Job description

The Corporate Enterprise Network (WAN): Network Engineer - Senior provides senior network engineering support for the DLA corporate enterprise network, developing technical requirements and specifications from inception through implementation for simple to moderately complex network problems. The Network Engineer applies expertise in enterprise LAN/WAN infrastructure, including COTS 10 Gigabit Ethernet, Cisco switching and routing, network hardware and software, and associated connectivity to internal servers and external networks. The role coordinates with program leadership, Government technical representatives, and users to develop accurate technical solutions and ensure user satisfaction.


*This position is contingent upon contract award. Two positions - one position will be on-site in Honolulu, Hawaii and one position will be remote based.*

Responsibilities:

  • Develop network requirements and technical specifications from product or capability inception through implementation.
  • Analyze and develop solutions for simple to moderately complex enterprise network problems.
  • Provide technical expertise for COTS 10 Gigabit Ethernet LAN infrastructure and associated network hardware and software.
  • Support Cisco-based enterprise switching and routing supporting internal servers and external networks.
  • Coordinate technical activities with program management, Government technical representatives, and user representatives.
  • Ensure proposed and implemented network solutions accurately address technical requirements and user needs.
  • Apply Network and Telecom Services experience to network management and service desk support activities.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Years of Experience: Five (5) years of progressive IT experience.
  • Clearance Requirements: Secret; High Risk, Critical Sensitive, Tier 5/SSBI investigation at time of proposal.
  • Certification Requirements:
    • IAT Level III – CASP+ CE, CCNP Security, CISA, CISSP (or Associate), GCED, GCIH, or CCSP
    • Cisco Certified Network Professional-Enterprise (CCNP-E).
    • Check Point Certified Security Administrator (CCSA) or higher.
  • Experience on at least two projects performing network and telecom services, including Network Management and Service Desk Support; at least one project must have occurred within the past three (3) years.

Desired/Preferred:

  • Check Point Certified Security Expert (CCSE) certification is preferred over CCSA.
  • AWS Cloud Practitioner certificate.
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals.
  • CompTIA Cloud certificate.
