Role Overview:

This role is about driving strategic growth across dealership groups nationwide by increasing F&I product penetration, delivering impactful coaching, and strengthening Safe-Guard’s position as a trusted partner. The purpose is to drive F&I product growth and profitability across dealership and group accounts by delivering strategic training, coaching, and partner engagement. As a National Account Manager, you’ll engage directly with dealer group leadership and field teams to align on business goals, implement action plans, and ensure consistent execution across multiple rooftops. Your success is measured by the impact you make across every group you support.

Role Responsibilities:

1. STRATEGIC PARTNER LEADERSHIP (Biggest Impact on Performance)

  • Strategic Partner Engagement: Maintain regular contact with assigned dealer group leadership to align business goals, present performance insights, and position Safe-Guard as a trusted advisor. This leads to long-term retention and deeper product adoption.
  • Execute Group-Level Account Plans: Develop and implement strategic plans tailored to each dealer group, ensuring consistent execution and measurable outcomes across all locations.
  • Analyze and Report Performance Metrics: Align with Dealer Groups on KPIs. Interpret Growth Accelerator data, track progress against KPIs, and share insights with internal teams and partners to drive continuous improvement.

2. REVENUE DRIVING & EXECUTION

  • Drive Product Penetration and Administration Fee Income: Monitor and influence F&I product sales and Administration Fee performance across rooftops, using data to guide action plans and coaching. This is the core revenue engine.
  • Deliver High-Impact Coaching: Facilitate or coordinate group-wide training sessions, F&I Roundtable, eCommerce Menu Utilization Training, maximize Dealer Participation Incentive Programs, Increase SG Express adoption.
  • Collaborate for Consistent Execution: Work seamlessly with National Trainers, eCommerce, and National Vehicle Retailing Team, as well as Regional Performance / Account Development Managers to ensure consistent messaging, execution, and support across all rooftops.

3. ACCOUNT EFFICIENCY & FOCUS

  • Prioritize Visits: Focus on high-impact partner engagement and executive-level planning ensuring maximum ROI on time or visits.
  • Leverage Support: Outsource routine administrative reporting and engage with other internal support teams to assist with store-level training delivery in an effort to free up time for high-impact activities.
  • Proactive Engagement: Establish proactive communication rhythms and empower field teams to handle tactical issues, avoiding reactive support requests.

Qualifications:

  • Top 3 Must-Haves (Non-Negotiable):
    1. Executive Presence and Relationship Intelligence: The ability to build trust, influence dealer group leadership, and lead strategic conversations with confidence and credibility.
    2. Proven Experience Driving F&I Performance Across Groups: A track record or potential to influencing decisions as a group level which increases Product Penetration and Administration Fee contribution across multi-rooftop accounts.
    3. Strategic Account Planning and Execution: Demonstrated ability to develop and implement group-level plans that align with partner goals, drive measurable outcomes, scale across rooftops, and able to confidently report back to Dealer Group executives.
  • Required Experience & Knowledge:
  • 5+ years of Automotive Industry Experience (F&I, OEM, or vendor-side account management).
  • 3–5 years in Sales Leadership or Strategic Account Management, managing multi-rooftop accounts.
  • Deep understanding of F&I Product & Performance Expertise, Dealer Group Operations, Menu Systems, and DMS Platforms.
  • Strategic & Tactical Thinking and strong Automotive Intellect.
  • Tools & Proficiency:
  • Proficiency in CRM and Sales Enablement Tools.
  • Mastery or ability to quickly master Power BI, Excel, and Growth Accelerator Reporting to interpret performance data and action it.
  • Skilled in using Presentation & Communication Platforms (PowerPoint, Teams, etc) for executive-level meetings.
  • Skills That Can Be Trained: F&I Product Knowledge, Safe-Guard’s specific product suite, positioning strategies, and compliance nuances.

Metrics of Success:

  • F&I Product Penetration Rate and Administration Fee Contribution meet or exceed company objectives.
  • Growth Accelerator Performance shows sustained improvement in product mix and revenue growth.
  • Dealer Group Retention and Expansion is achieved through strong partner relationships.
