Job description

Take full ownership of finance at a private equity-backed healthcare software company, with $200,000–$250,000 in total annual cash compensation and a 0.25%–0.60% equity grant.

This is a compelling next step for a Director, VP, or Head of Finance ready for a first CFO seat, or a current CFO seeking meaningful operating influence. You will work directly with company leadership and the sponsor, helping shape pricing, margins, growth decisions, and financial performance.

About the Company

The company provides claims pricing and contract management SaaS solutions to payers and providers. Its newer products create an opportunity for finance to influence pricing, renewal economics, and customer and product profitability.

About the Role

You will own the finance function from planning and reporting through accounting oversight, cash management, and strategic finance. You will report to the President & Co-Chairman and partner with the CEO & Co-Chairman, board, investors, and lenders.

You will have an established foundation to build on: a fractional controller, bookkeeping and AP/AR support, completed audits, and prior acquisition and debt-financing experience within the business. The role combines hands-on work with the authority to turn financial analysis into better operating decisions.

Compensation and Work Model

  • Total annual cash compensation: $200,000–$250,000.
  • Equity: 0.25%–0.60% equity grant.
  • Work model: 80%+ remote flexibility; candidates must be based in the United States.
  • Location preference: Greater Philadelphia or Delaware, with occasional office access helpful.

What You Will Own

Planning and Business Performance

  • Own the three-statement financial model, budget, rolling forecasts, and variance analysis.
  • Translate recurring revenue, retention, margins, and customer/product economics into operating decisions.
  • Partner with leaders on pricing, renewals, commercial contracts, vendor negotiations, and concrete P&L improvements.

Reporting and Accounting Oversight

  • Deliver monthly and quarterly board, investor, lender, and management reporting with useful KPI dashboards and clear financial narratives.
  • Partner with the controller on close, GAAP financial statements, internal controls, audit, tax, and compliance relationships.
  • Improve financial visibility and systems as the business grows, including the distinction between prepaid cash collections, deferred revenue, and recognized revenue.

Cash, Capital, and Strategic Finance

  • Own liquidity planning, banking relationships, debt facilities, and covenant reporting with support from the existing team.
  • Advise leadership on strategy, growth priorities, and allocation of resources.
  • Maintain transaction readiness and support diligence, valuation, and deal structuring when strategic opportunities arise.
  • Develop finance resources as business needs warrant.

Required Qualifications

  • Hands-on finance experience in an investor-backed software business. Both PE-backed and VC-backed environments are relevant.
  • Ownership of meaningful finance workstreams, with the ability to take responsibility for FP&A, reporting, cash planning, and accounting oversight.
  • At least 2 years in management consulting, investment banking, or Big 4 audit/assurance.
  • At least 2 years in private equity, venture capital, or senior software/SaaS finance.
  • Strong command of software finance metrics and GAAP reporting, including recurring revenue, retention, unit economics, deferred revenue, and cash versus recognized revenue.
  • Ability to explain financial results and recommendations clearly to executives, investors, lenders, and board stakeholders.
  • A bachelor's degree.

Prior CFO title is not required. Material ownership within a division, business unit, or finance number-two role can be relevant preparation for this seat.

Preferred Experience

  • Healthcare technology, payer/provider software, claims pricing, contract management, or revenue cycle.
  • Participation in pricing, renewal, customer economics, or margin improvement projects.
  • Debt facilities, lender reporting, or covenant management.
  • M&A, financial diligence, valuation, or transaction readiness.
  • MBA, CPA, or CFA.

Healthcare experience is preferred. Strong investor-backed software finance experience is the central qualification. Prior end-to-end pricing leadership or direct board presentation is not required.

Why This Opportunity

  • Own the CFO mandate and have a direct voice in business strategy.
  • Participate in the value you help create through an equity grant.
  • Build on existing accounting support while improving commercial and operating performance.
  • Work closely with company leadership and an experienced private equity sponsor.
