Overview:

As a Accounts Payable/Employee Expenses Team Lead at Linesight, you will work with highly experienced, culturally diverse, and passionate teams nurturing a strong social dynamic and a shared sense of achievement. The Accounts Payable/Employee Expenses Team Lead will support the Global Accounts Payable Manager in the day-to-day management and development of the Accounts Payable and Employee Expense team based in India.

This role has been created to provide additional leadership and management support for the offshore AP team, ensuring that team members have clear direction, appropriate support and regular feedback, while maintaining high standards of performance and service.

Working closely with the Global Accounts Payable Manager, the AP/EE Manager will take responsibility for the day-to-day management of the team, allowing the Global Accounts Payable Manager to maintain oversight of the wider global AP function and strategic priorities.

The successful candidate will be a strong people manager who can build trusted relationships with the team, identify and address performance issues, support individual development and ensure the team consistently delivers against agreed expectations.

The Opportunity:

Key Responsibilities

Team Management & Development

  • Provide day-to-day management and leadership to the three Accounts Payable Analysts and four Employee Expense Analysts based in India.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for the team for day-to-day management, guidance and support.
  • Work closely with the Global Accounts Payable Manager to ensure the team is aligned with global AP and EE objectives and priorities.
  • Establish clear expectations around performance, behaviours, quality and delivery.
  • Monitor individual and team performance and provide regular feedback.
  • Conduct regular one-to-ones with team members.
  • Identify development and training opportunities and support team members in building their skills.
  • Encourage accountability, ownership and continuous improvement.
  • Recognise good performance and address issues promptly and constructively.
  • Support the onboarding and integration of new team members.
  • Help build a positive, engaged and collaborative team culture despite the team being geographically remote.

Performance Management

  • Monitor agreed KPIs and service levels for the AP and EE team.
  • Review workload and priorities to ensure resources are appropriately allocated.
  • Identify performance trends, recurring issues and areas requiring additional support.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to team members to improve performance.
  • Escalate significant performance, conduct or resourcing issues to the Global Accounts Payable Manager.
  • Work with the Global Accounts Payable Manager on formal performance management where required.
  • Ensure agreed actions and objectives are followed through to completion.

Day-to-Day AP Support

  • Oversee the team's daily AP and EE activities and ensure deadlines are consistently achieved.
  • Provide guidance on complex or escalated AP and EE queries.
  • Monitor invoice processing, supplier queries, reconciliations and payment-related activities.
  • Monitor the audit and review of out of pocket and credit card expenses and payment runs for Employees
  • Ensure the team follows established AP and EE processes, procedures and controls.
  • Act as an escalation point for issues that cannot be resolved by the AP and EE Analysts.
  • Ensure any significant operational issues are communicated to the Global Accounts Payable Manager in a timely manner.

Communication & Stakeholder Management

  • Maintain regular communication with the AP and EE team in India and ensure they remain connected to the wider Finance function.
  • Build strong working relationships with colleagues across different locations and time zones.
  • Communicate priorities, changes and expectations clearly to the team.
  • Provide regular updates to the Global Accounts Payable Manager on team performance, workload, issues and development.
  • Work collaboratively with Finance and other business functions to resolve AP and EE related issues.
  • Ensure communication between the global AP and EE team and the offshore team is effective and consistent.

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to improve the team's processes, efficiency and ways of working.
  • Encourage team members to suggest and implement process improvements.
  • Support the Global Accounts Payable Manager with AP and EE improvement initiatives.
  • Help ensure processes and procedures are consistently followed across the team.
  • Assist with the implementation of new systems, processes and controls.

Experience & Skills

  • 12+ Years of experience managing, supervising or leading an Accounts Payable, Employee Expense or Finance team.
  • Proven people management and coaching experience.
  • Experience managing team performance and providing constructive feedback.
  • Strong understanding of Accounts Payable and Employee Expense processes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build effective relationships with colleagues working remotely and internationally.
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to manage competing priorities.
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good understanding of financial controls and AP processes.
  • Strong Excel and systems skills.
