Job description

Job Description Summary

The Opportunity:

The shift to clean energy is one of the defining challenges of our time — and the commercial professionals who help make it happen will leave a lasting mark on the world.

As a Sales Manager at GE Vernova, you'll build a meaningful career at the intersection of high-stakes commercial work and genuine customer impact. You'll own a real portfolio of customer accounts from day one, developing trusted relationships and managing complex sales cycles — all while working alongside an experienced Sales Director who will invest in your growth. This role is designed for someone hungry to win, eager to learn, and ready to develop into broader account ownership and sales leadership over time.

Job Description

What You'll Do

Customer Ownership & Relationship Development

  • Own and manage an assigned portfolio of customer accounts — developing close, trusted relationships through consistent engagement and reliable follow-through.
  • Partner with the Sales Director on larger strategic accounts, contributing to deal execution, proposal development, and customer engagement as the second member of the account team.
  • Support customers seeking to re-profile or renegotiate existing agreements on your owned accounts, in coordination with the Sales Director.

Pipeline & Commercial Execution

  • Maintain day-to-day ownership of your opportunity pipeline in Salesforce, ensuring forecast accuracy and data quality for leadership reviews.
  • Develop formal offerings, pricing estimates, studies, and proposal materials throughout the inquiry, sales, and commitment process.
  • Apply sound judgment to resolve commercial issues within accounts, using data analysis to support your recommendations — escalating complex negotiations to the Sales Director as appropriate.

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Market Insight

  • Coordinate with Engineering, Contracts, Finance, Project Management, and Field Service teams to support deal execution and customer requests.
  • Build working knowledge of market trends, commercial developments, and competitor positioning — contributing insights to account and regional strategy.
  • Contribute to commercial initiatives and small projects that broaden your business knowledge and cross-functional experience.

Who You Are

You are a driven, coachable sales professional with a genuine curiosity about customers and the energy market — someone ready to own accounts, sharpen your commercial craft, and grow into a senior sales leader.

Required qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in business, engineering, finance, economics, analytics, or a related field
  • 3+ years of sales experience, ideally including exposure to complex, multi-stakeholder, or capital equipment sales cycles

Preferred qualifications

  • Masters degree in Business, Engineering, Finance, Economics, Analytics, or a related field
  • Demonstrated aptitude for consultative selling — curiosity about customer businesses, the ability to ask insightful questions, and interest in developing a teaching and challenging sales style
  • Coachable, with a demonstrated openness to feedback and a genuine desire to grow into roles of increasing responsibility
  • High attention to detail in pipeline management, forecasting accuracy, and proposal and contract documentation
  • Strong drive to win — with the ability to manage multiple concurrent accounts and opportunities in a fast-paced, high-value environment
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a two-person account team, balancing independent ownership with support of a director-led strategy
  • An established industry network is a plus, but not required at this stage
