About this role......


1. Strategic Partnership & Market Planning


  • Partner with the Commercial Market Director, North Asia to develop and execute North Asia's commercial strategy and growth agenda.
  • Support market strategic planning, market reviews, and commercial planning processes across all North Asia markets.
  • Assist in translating regional and global priorities into actionable market strategies and execution plans, using best in class templates and processes
  • In conjunction with Business Solutions, assess market opportunities, customer needs, competitive dynamics and emerging industry trends.
  • Enable strategic initiatives that strengthen market position, customer value proposition and long-term growth.
  • Ensure country plans align with overall business objectives and financial targets.
  • Provide thought leadership and commercial recommendations to support executive decision-making.

2. Commercial Performance Management

  • Support and maintain robust performance management frameworks for North Asia.
  • Monitor business performance across revenue, gross margin, profitability, pipeline, retention and growth metrics.
  • Lead monthly and quarterly business reviews with market leadership teams.
  • Analyse performance outcomes, identify risks and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
  • Develop executive dashboards and reporting frameworks that provide visibility and actionable insights.
  • Monitor progress against  strategic priorities and commercial commitments.
  • Support investment decisions through rigorous commercial evaluation and business case analysis.
  • Manage reporting calendars, action trackers and governance documentation to ensure timely follow-up of leadership decisions.

3. Leadership of Market Performance

  • Work closely with country leaders and market leads to drive strong business performance.
  • Act as a trusted advisor and sounding board to the North Asia leadership team.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, ownership and execution excellence.
  • Professionally and constructively challenge assumptions, plans, forecasts and business outcomes.
  • Ensure market leaders maintain focus on agreed priorities, customer growth and business performance.
  • Support development of high-performing leadership capability across North Asia.

4. Financial Planning & Business Analytics

  • Partner closely with Finance Business Partner to support budgeting, forecasting and long-range planning processes.
  • Review financial, commercial and operational data across North Asia.
  • Produce actionable insights to support decision-making and resource prioritization.
  • Monitor market performance trends and identify opportunities for revenue acceleration and margin improvement.
  • Ensure management reporting is accurate, timely and focused on critical business priorities.
  • Prepare executive-level materials for regional and global leadership reviews.

5. Commercial Governance & Operational Excellence

  • Establish strong governance disciplines and operating rhythms across the North Asia leadership team.
  • Lead strategic planning reviews, operational reviews, pipeline reviews and leadership meetings.
  • Drive consistency in business planning, reporting, forecasting and execution practices.
  • Improve commercial effectiveness through streamlined processes and enhanced operational discipline.
  • Monitor strategic initiatives and ensure milestones, deliverables and outcomes are achieved.
  • Support implementation of commercial best practices and standards.
  • Create transparency around business priorities, resource allocation and execution progress.

6. Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Lead complex strategic initiatives requiring coordination across multiple functions and markets.
  • Ensure client commitments and business priorities are effectively executed.
  • Facilitate collaboration and best-practice sharing across North Asia.
  • Remove organizational barriers that may impede delivery of strategic goals.

7. Acting Market Director Responsibilities

  • Serve as the delegated leader of North Asia during Market Director absences.
  • Provide leadership oversight for commercial matters.
  • Chair leadership meetings and executive reviews when required.
  • Make informed business decisions in alignment with delegated authority.
  • Ensure continuity of strategic execution and stakeholder management.
  • Represent North Asia with regional and global leadership teams as needed.

  • 12 years or above experience in commercial leadership, P&L ownership, strategy, business operations, or general management
  • Proven track record in driving revenue growth, business performance, and strategic planning.
  • Strong understanding of local market dynamics, customer behaviour, and commercial landscape.
  • Experience within financial services, payments, loyalty, travel, hospitality, or customer engagement sectors is preferred.
  • Demonstrated success in leading cross-functional initiatives and influencing senior stakeholders in matrix organisations.
  • Strong financial management, forecasting, business analytics, and operational excellence capabilities.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, stakeholder management, and team development skills.
  • Excellent command in English
