Job description

Job Summary

Exient is seeking an experienced and highly organised Fractional Game Producer to support our team on a remote, contract basis. We're ideally looking for someone based in the UK. In this role, you will manage game development projects across their lifecycle, from planning and production through to release and live operations, on a part-time basis of 20–25 hours per week. You'll work closely with our Malta-based cross-functional teams, including product, design, engineering, and art, to make sure projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to the highest quality.

This is a great opportunity for a seasoned producer who enjoys variety, works independently, and can make an immediate impact. You'll bring structure and momentum to our projects, building strong relationships internally and with our external partners, while keeping the flexibility of a contractor arrangement.

Responsibilities Include

  • Oversee the delivery of assigned internal and external projects through development, release, and live operations
  • Quickly get up to speed on existing projects and processes, and work effectively within an agreed time allocation
  • Collaborate with teams to create realistic and achievable project plans
  • Identify and proactively solve risks, blockers and dependencies ahead of time
  • Maintain clear and accurate project reporting for leadership and stakeholders
  • Ensure deliverables meet agreed quality standards and client expectations
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships across the business and with external partners
  • Represent the Production team positively within the studio and with clients
  • Document processes and decisions clearly so work continues smoothly on non-working days
  • Be flexible to adjust focus as priorities evolve within the agreed scope

Education and Experience

  • 3+ years of experience in game development production or project management within the agile framework
  • Proven ability to work autonomously and deliver results on a part-time or contract basis
  • Hands-on experience with resource planning, sprint organisation, JIRA and risk mitigation is essential
  • Scrum Master certification is a plus
  • Previous freelance, fractional or consulting experience is a plus

Technical Skills

  • An understanding of the game development pipeline from concept to live
  • The ability to communicate with all game-related disciplines is essential
  • Proficiency in JIRA and Confluence
  • Knowledge of Apple App Store and Google Play Store release pipelines
  • The ability to work in an iterative and agile production process
  • Interest in video games and the game development process
  • Experience introducing or managing AI-assisted development workflows and agentic toolchains is a plus

AI & Development Tools

We use AI to support and accelerate our internal development processes, including assisting with workflows, reviewing code, identifying bugs and improving productivity across the studio.

We are particularly interested in speaking with producers who have practical experience using AI within game development, including establishing AI-assisted workflows, pipelines and toolchains, and exploring the use of agentic AI to automate or streamline development and production processes.

We do not currently use generative AI to create game artwork.

Interpersonal Skills

  • Fluent in English
  • Self-directed, with a strong sense of ownership and accountability
  • Excellent communication skills, including clear written updates and handovers
  • Comfortable working remotely and collaborating with a distributed team across time zones
  • Calm under pressure, with a solution-oriented mindset
  • Ability to navigate conflicts constructively and maintain team morale under pressure
  • Strong people leadership skills, with an understanding of how to motivate teams, recognise individual contributions and ensure people feel valued and supported.
