Technical Lead & Chief Security Architect/Engineer

Location: Remote; travel may be required in support of meetings, training, presentations, or briefings with project stakeholders
Required Clearance: Ability to obtain and maintain the required VA background investigation/suitability determination
Certifications: Certification in one or more of the following: PMP, IAT III, IAM III or IASAE III certifications and IAT III/ IAM III / IASAE III certifications may be substituted for a relevant Bachelor’s degree or 4 years of relevant experience
Required Education: Master’s degree in Cybersecurity, Math, Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems Architecture, Telecommunications Systems Design, Architecture Implementation, Information SystemsIntegration, Software Development Methodologies, Security Engineering, and Network Systems Communications Management.An additional advanced degree (e.g. Master’s or PhD) in an IT related field may substitute for up to 5 years of the required experience.
Required Experience: Minimum of 15 years of Enterprise Security Architecture Information Security experience at a large company or Government agency similar in size/scope to GSA, IRS, DoD or VA

Description

PingWind is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Technical Lead & Chief Security Architect/Engineer to provide senior technical leadership for enterprise security architecture and engineering efforts supporting a large Federal Government client. As the Technical Lead, serve as a technical authority for the design, assessment, modernization, and implementation of secure enterprise architectures spanning legacy and emerging technologies, including cloud, mobile, IoT, APIs, VR/XR, 5G, post-quantum cryptography, data loss prevention, cryptography, quantum computing, and artificial intelligence. Apply extensive expertise in security architecture, engineering, risk management, enterprise architecture, and Federal cybersecurity standards to analyze complex technical challenges, guide architecture reviews, evaluate technical tradeoffs, and develop strategies for addressing requirements and risks. As Technical Lead, collaborate with program and project leadership, provide technical direction to multidisciplinary teams, and help ensure security architecture and engineering activities remain aligned with our government client's mission, enterprise architecture, and cybersecurity objectives.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for enterprise security architecture and engineering activities.
• Lead security architecture and design reviews throughout the system development lifecycle.
• Analyze complex cybersecurity requirements and risks and develop architecture strategies and mitigations.
• Conduct technical trade-off analyses considering security, risk, cost, schedule, performance, and mission objectives.
• Guide architecture methodologies, tools, diagrams, processes, and technical documentation.
• Provide architectural leadership across cloud, mobile, IoT, APIs, VR/XR, 5G, PQC, cryptography, quantum computing, AI, and other technologies.
• Coordinate technical direction with program leadership, engineering teams, and Government stakeholders.

Requirements

• Ability to obtain and maintain required VA background investigation/suitability and system access.
• Experience leading enterprise security architecture and engineering in complex environments.
• Expertise analyzing complex architecture requirements, risks, and emerging technologies.

Preferred Qualifications

• Chief Security Architect or equivalent Federal experience.
• Health IT architecture experience.
• Advanced enterprise/security architecture certification.

Salary Range

 121K - 169K
