We’re looking for a Development Associate who can bring strong analytical skills, project coordination, and sound judgment to the full lifecycle of multifamily development.

The Opportunity

In this position, you’ll work across multiple development projects from early site evaluation and underwriting through design, permitting, construction, and lease up. You’ll support financial analysis, due diligence, budgeting, project execution, and coordination with the internal and external teams responsible for bringing each development to life.

You’ll work closely with senior leadership, Development, Construction, Property Management, Asset Management, architects, engineers, contractors, consultants, and other partners to keep projects financially sound, compliant, and moving forward.

Key areas of focus include:

• Support site selection and due diligence through market research, demographic analysis, feasibility studies, third party reports, and acquisition related activities.

• Maintain financial models and project underwriting, evaluate investment returns, track development budgets and expenses, and support debt and equity financing activities.

• Coordinate permitting, entitlements, design approvals, consultant activities, and regulatory requirements throughout the development process.

• Monitor construction progress through site visits, framing walks, project milestones, RFIs, construction draws, change orders, and hard and soft cost tracking.

• Manage project information and coordinate across Development, Construction, Property Management, Asset Management, senior leadership, consultants, and other stakeholders to keep decisions and deliverables moving.

This is a role for someone who can move comfortably between financial analysis and hands on project execution. You understand how individual decisions around cost, design, timing, and operations affect the larger development and can keep multiple priorities moving without losing sight of the details.

What You Bring to the Team

You have 3+ years of experience in real estate development, finance, construction, or a related field, with multifamily experience preferred. A bachelor’s or master’s degree in Real Estate, Finance, Architecture, Engineering, Business, Urban Planning, or a related discipline is preferred.

You have a strong understanding of real estate investment and development fundamentals, including financial modeling, underwriting, budgeting, due diligence, entitlements, and construction. You’re proficient in Excel and comfortable working with ARGUS, project management platforms, and Microsoft Office.

You can analyze complex transactions and investment assumptions, interpret design and construction documents, manage multiple projects and shifting priorities, and present information clearly to senior leadership and other stakeholders.

More importantly, you bring strong judgment, organization, and follow through to your work. You can operate independently when needed, collaborate across disciplines, anticipate potential issues, and take ownership of assignments through completion.

This position requires the ability to travel as needed for project sites and meetings with consultants, contractors, stakeholders, and government authorities.
