Prometheum is building the market infrastructure that brings securities onto the blockchain. Our SEC-registered broker-dealer network carries a digital asset through its entire life, from issuance and distribution to qualified custody, correspondent clearing, and secondary market trading, all within U.S. securities law.

That work has put us first more than once. We became the first SEC-registered special purpose broker-dealer, and the first to trade ETH inside a traditional brokerage account. Blockchain Engineer 2 - Full time W2

Salary Range:-
$130,000 - $165,000

Overview:- 

As a Blockchain Engineer 2, you take ownership of a whole feature once an epic is agreed on. Epics come from the Architect and CTO, but they are shaped in team brainstorms where you are expected to bring a view, including what is happening across the blockchain and cryptography landscape and how it should change our approach. Once we have consensus, you break the work into pieces the team can pick up, get it ready to build, guide it through to release, and keep stakeholders honestly informed along the way. You will work with the Architect on technical design, with guidance from senior engineers as you grow into that part of the job.

We are a specialist team. Other teams depend on us for custody contracts, transaction signing and orchestration, and the key management that ties them together, work they cannot do themselves, so our output is measured by how well it serves those teams and the customers behind them, not by how much of it you shipped. When something is not moving, we expect you to say so early and come with options.

Our engineering team is fully remote.

Responsibilities:-

• Build and maintain secure and optimized blockchain applications
• Own epics end to end, from story writing and pointing through delivery and release
• Build across many different languages taking on the large, complex problems in your team's scope
• Report progress on your epic regularly and accurately, and raise risks before they become surprises
• Partner with senior engineers on technical design, architecture decisions, and future epics
• Demonstrate a passion for learning, building, and constantly improving cutting-edge applications
• Communicate often to encourage tight and quick feedback loops and remove potential blockers
• Use AI coding tools as a default part of your workflow, and review what they produce with the same rigor you would apply to your own code
• Review teammates' code in a way that catches design concerns, edge cases, and test gaps
• Work directly with neighboring systems throughout delivery, not just at the handoff
• Investigate and resolve issues found in QA, UAT, and production

Qualifications:-

• 3 or more years of professional software engineering experience building and shipping production software
• Strong blockchain fundamental knowledge including in-depth knowledge of top chains (i.e. Bitcoin and Ethereum)
• Familiarity with basic cryptography commonly utilized by blockchains
• Strong administrative/organizational skills (ability to effectively prioritize, manage time, and meet deadlines on multiple projects)

• Automated testing as a habit rather than an afterthought
• Hands-on experience with AI coding assistants, plus the judgment to know when their output is wrong
• Clear written communication with a strong command of the English language, which matters more on a fully remote team
• Able to reason through technical disagreements with evidence, and to update your view when the evidence shifts
• Authorized to work in the U.S. or Canada
• Able to pass a comprehensive background check, which is required for this role

Nice to have:- 

• Experience mentoring or onboarding other engineers
• Background in finance, brokerage, trading, or custody
• Exposure to regulated environments and the audit trails they require
• Experience with Jira, Confluence, or similar
