Industry Mentor - AI Engineer / GenAI | Part - Time

About the Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced AI Engineer / GenAI Industry Mentor to coach and upskill learners building practical, industry-ready AI and Generative AI solutions.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience building and deploying AI/GenAI applications, strong communication skills, and the ability to simplify complex technical concepts while guiding learners through real-world projects.

Role & Responsibilities

• Conduct live mentoring sessions and technical office hours covering AI Engineering, Generative AI, LLMs, and industry best practices.

• Guide learners in building LLM applications, RAG systems, AI agents, chatbots, and AI automation workflows.

• Review learners' code, projects, architectures, and GitHub portfolios and provide actionable feedback.

• Mentor learners on Python, APIs, LLM integration, prompt engineering, embeddings, vector databases, and RAG.

• Guide learners on model selection, evaluation, fine-tuning, deployment, and optimization.

• Help learners understand real-world AI engineering practices including scalability, latency, cost, security, and reliability.

• Conduct technical assessments, mock interviews, and project reviews to prepare learners for AI/ML and GenAI roles.

• Help learners troubleshoot technical challenges and improve the quality of their projects.

• Collaborate with curriculum and product teams to improve AI/GenAI projects and assignments.

• Track learner progress and maintain mentorship records.

Skills & QualificationsMust-Have

• Hands-on experience building AI/ML or Generative AI applications.

• Strong proficiency in Python.

• Experience working with LLMs and GenAI APIs/frameworks such as OpenAI, Gemini, Claude, Hugging Face, LangChain, or LlamaIndex.

• Strong understanding of RAG, embeddings, vector databases, prompt engineering, and LLM evaluation.

• Experience building AI applications using APIs, backend frameworks, or cloud platforms.

• Practical experience deploying AI/ML solutions.

• Prior experience in mentoring, teaching, training, or technical coaching.

• Strong communication skills and the ability to explain complex concepts in a simple and practical way.

Preferred

• Experience building AI Agents / Agentic AI applications.

• Experience with LangChain, LlamaIndex, LangGraph, or similar frameworks.

• Familiarity with Docker, MLOps, CI/CD, and cloud platforms.

• Experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure.

• Knowledge of PyTorch, TensorFlow, or Scikit-learn.

• Experience with NLP, Computer Vision, or multimodal AI.

• Experience conducting AI/ML technical interviews.

• Experience reviewing AI/GenAI projects, resumes, or GitHub portfolios.

• Experience building and deploying production-grade AI/GenAI solutions.
