JOB SUMMARY: 

The WLC Program Coordinator is responsible for supporting the on-site implementation and supervision of student and chaperone programming while coordinating logistical and participant needs across the Washington Leadership Conference. Core duties include providing leadership coverage across both areas of programming, supporting WLC facilitators and program delivery, and working collaboratively with the Director of Student Programming and Director of Chaperone Programming to ensure a consistent and high-quality conference experience. The Program Coordinator is expected to maintain awareness of both student and chaperone programming and provide additional leadership and support as needed.

The Program Coordinator manages transportation for student and chaperone programming, including coordinating schedules, communicating with transportation vendors, and responding to changes throughout each conference week. Additional responsibilities include supporting participant needs and concerns, assisting with on-site logistical needs and vendor coordination, providing leadership during participant transitions and other conference activities, and making responsible spending decisions within the established program budget.

The role also requires participation in three mandatory training weeks and certification in First Aid/CPR. All responsibilities may be adjusted, changed, or removed at any time by the Program Specialist or Program Manager.

Mandatory Training Dates

  • March 14-20, 2027 (Indianapolis, Indiana)
  • May 24-27, 2027 (Indianapolis, Indiana)
  • May 28-June 6, 2027 (Washington, D.C.)

Conference Dates

  • June 7-July 20, 2027 (Washington, D.C.) 
    • Staff will be hired with the potential to facilitate up to five weeks.

Compensation

  • March 14-20, 2027 Training: $742
  • May 24-27, 2027 Training: $495
  • May 28-June 6, 2027 Training: $742
  • Conference Weeks: $1,123 per week
  • Cleanup: $270

  • Must be able to provide and receive feedback with a growth mindset and collaborative demeanor.
  • Must have personal access to, and be able to use, a computer or laptop.
  • Other duties as assigned.

GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Facilitate all assigned pre-developed content during each conference.
  • Work with corporate partners, as assigned, to coordinate in-person or virtual visits during conferences.
  • Complete administrative duties, including expense reports, travel scheduling, and related tasks.
  • Maintain clear and consistent communication with National FFA staff regarding conference changes and updates, including receiving and implementing feedback throughout the conference season.

EDUCATION

  • High school diploma required.
  • Some college coursework or a bachelor's degree preferred.

EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of one year of experience as a National FFA conference facilitator or in agricultural education.
