This is a remote position.
We are looking for a Senior Infrastructure Software Engineer to design and develop large-scale distributed backend infrastructure supporting global, data-intensive systems. The role focuses on
scalability, reliability, performance, and security, with ownership of complex long-term technical projects and responsibility for influencing architecture and technical direction across engineering teams.
Responsibilities
• Design and develop large scale infrastructure systems
• Build highly distributed backend platforms
• Work on infrastructure handling very large data volumes
• Improve scalability, performance and reliability
• Improve platform security
• Solve complex infrastructure and backend engineering problems
• Drive improvements across existing systems
• Own major technical projects from design through delivery
• Work across multiple engineering teams
• Influence technical decisions across projects
• Define technical approaches for complex problems
• Support medium and long term technical direction
• Develop and debug production software
• Support production environments when required
Requirements
• Minimum 9 years professional software development experience
• Strong backend or infrastructure software engineering
• Large scale distributed systems
• Multithreaded systems
• Geographically distributed backend systems
• Strong programming in Python, Go, C++, C or Java
• Strong debugging capability
• Experience with operating systems, databases and networks
• Ability to independently own complex technical projects
• Ability to work effectively with ambiguous requirements
• Strong technical problem solving
• Experience influencing technical direction
