What You'll Be Doing  

As an Account Manager supporting the Pittsburgh, PA and New York territory, you’ll play a key role in building strong customer relationships and growing our business. This is a relationship-driven role for someone who enjoys being in front of customers, developing new business, and representing the company as a trusted partner.

  • Compile lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads, based on information from business directories, industry ads, trade shows, Web Sites, and other sources.
  • Travel throughout assigned territory to meet with regular and prospective customers on a daily basis or as directed by management.
  • Display or demonstrate product to customers using samples and/or catalog.
  • Use phone, email, promotional material, trade shows, and face-to-face meetings as primary sources of communication.
  • Follow-up on telesales efforts for new business opportunities and strengthen existing customer relationships.
  • Quote prices and provides estimated dates of delivery to customer.
  • Prepare reports of business transactions and manages expenses via Concur Software.
  • Work with inside sales representatives to keep account activities and literature up to date.
  • Record new customer data and other sales data for current customers.
  • Attend national and regional trade shows.
  • Participate in correlation studies, evaluations, and conversions of the company's blood collection system. 
  • Responsible to log all customer interactions/activities in the CRDB such as appointments, quotes, samples, etc.
  • Responsible to log all customer business opportunities in the SAP-C4C Sales Funnel.
  • Attend sales training, refresher courses, and new product introduction presentations as required.

What Your Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Life Science, Health Science, or a related field from a four-year college or university, with 2–3 years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in medical or research sales required.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds for product delivery and trade show setup.
  • Ability to travel up to 90% throughout the assigned territory, with up to 50% overnight travel outside the territory.
  • Valid driver’s license, ability to operate a motor vehicle, and successful completion of an MVR check required.
  • Remote position based in the Pittsburgh, PA or New York territory.

Work environment

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is frequently exposed to airborne particles in a laboratory setting. The employee may be exposed to Bloodborne Pathogens and will require training on preventative measures. The employee must also be able to obtain immunization records and maintain compliancy with all vendor requirements.
