Job description

   

Coloplast is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Legal Assistant Contractor to provide administrative and operational support to the Vice President & General Counsel North America, and the Corporate Paralegal. This position offers a unique opportunity to gain experience in a sophisticated in-house legal department while supporting a broad range of corporate governance, licensing, legal operations, and administrative functions. This role provides meaningful exposure to the highly regulated medical device and durable medical equipment industries and legal work while maintaining a flexible, part-time schedule. The successful candidate will assist with corporate filings, state and local licensing management, invoice processing, reporting, document organization, and general legal department operations.

The position is fully remote and requires approximately 9-12 hours per week, generally spread across three to four consistent business days each week. The length of assignment is anticipated to be 2 years.

Major Areas of Accountability

  • Secretary of State filings, and Annual reports for U.S entities.
  • Maintain corporate records, corporate registrations, and other entity maintenance activities
  • Franchise Tax filings for U.S entities
  • State and local Business licenses, and industry specific licenses, applications, filings and renewals for U.S entities
  • Organization and maintenance of North America Legal Dept. electronic file system
  • Support legal dept. operations, and administrative initiatives
  • Process law firm and vendor invoices
  • Process expense reports
  • Make travel arrangements
  • Additional administrative support, including, but not limited to: scheduling, preparation of power point presentations and other documents, routing documents for signature, making copies, sending documents by email, mail and UPS

Basic Qualifications

  • A minimum of 2-3 years of experience as a Legal Assistant or Paralegal in an in-house corporate environment
  • High school diploma required, Associate or Bachelor Degree preferred
  • Advanced computer skills in Outlook, Excel, Word and Powerpoint
  • Demonstrates a strong initiative, and problem-solving skills
  • Exceptional organizational skills and strong attention to details
  • Excellent follow- through and attention to deadlines
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize and effectively manage workload
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment with limited supervision

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Secretary of State filings and entity management preferred

Experience managing state, county or local business licenses preferred

This position pays $45/hr.
