Our team is bringing together leaders to the market place to help drive OneOncology’s mission and vision.
Why join us? This is an exciting time to join OneOncology. Our values-driven culture reflects our startup enthusiasm supported by industry leaders in oncology, urology, technology, and finance. We are looking for talented and highly-motivated individuals who demonstrate a natural desire to improve and build new processes that support the meaningful work of independent physicians and the patients they serve.
Job Description:
This Full Stack Engineer is dedicated to OneCenter and OneAnalytics—the platform our partner practices use to measure clinical quality, operational performance, and financial results. OneCenter is a React web application backed by Python and FastAPI services on Azure, while OneAnalytics is the analytics layer within the platform, built on Databricks and Azure SQL and surfaced largely through embedded Power BI.
In this role, you will own the application layer surrounding the analytics stack, including the embedded Power BI experience and its supporting wrapper, the APIs that deliver Databricks and Azure SQL data to the front end, and the integration of Databricks Genie conversational analytics into OneCenter. You will partner closely with the Analytics team, which builds the semantic models, dashboards, and Genie spaces, while you build and enhance the product experience our partner practices use every day.
Our engineering team is small and growing, so breadth matters more than specialization. We are looking for an engineer who is strong across the full stack, comfortable working close to data, and ready to grow into deeper architectural responsibilities with support from senior engineers.
This is a full-time remote position within the United States. Employees located in the Nashville, TN area have the option to work from the Nashville office.
Responsibilities:
Build and ship features in the OneCenter web application using React, backed by Python and FastAPI services running on Azure.
Design and maintain FastAPI services that deliver analytics data, user context, and practice configuration to the front end, using Pydantic models and generated OpenAPI schemas as the contract between services and the front end.
Own the OneAnalytics user experience within OneCenter, including navigation, filtering, load performance, and functionality that makes analytics accessible and useful for practice leaders and physicians.
Build and maintain the embedded Power BI experience, including embed token generation, report and workspace management, filters, bookmarks, and the supporting wrapper application.
Implement and verify row-level security to ensure each practice can access only its own data, and monitor and tune embedded report performance and capacity utilization.
Query and integrate data from Databricks, including SQL warehouses, Unity Catalog, and Delta tables, and Azure SQL into application features. Write and tune SQL and partner with Analytics and Data Engineering on the models and views supporting the application.
Use async endpoints, background tasks, caching, and pagination to keep large analytic result sets responsive in the browser.
Integrate Databricks Genie into OneCenter using Genie Conversation APIs, enabling practice users to ask questions of their data in natural language. Build supporting guardrails, including authentication, governed access through Unity Catalog, result rendering, and feedback capture.
Use AI-assisted development tooling to improve development efficiency and code quality.
Write unit and integration tests, participate actively in code reviews, and document solutions so they can be effectively maintained by the broader team.
Build to HIPAA and HITRUST expectations, including least privilege, encryption in transit and at rest, audit logging, tenant isolation, and appropriate handling of protected health information.
Partner with Analytics, Data Engineering, Product, and practice-facing teams to understand how physicians and practice administrators use data and translate reporting and analytics needs into scalable product features rather than one-off solutions.
Additional responsibilities as assigned to help drive our mission of improving the lives of everyone living with cancer.
Qualifications:
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
High school diploma or GED.
3+ years of professional full-stack software development experience.
Working proficiency in React and modern JavaScript; TypeScript preferred.
Strong Python skills, including building REST APIs with FastAPI — or with Flask or Django and a clear willingness to work in FastAPI.
Comfort with async/await in Python and with typed request and response models (Pydantic).
Strong SQL skills and comfort working directly with analytical data models.
Experience deploying applications to a major cloud platform, Azure preferred.
Experience with REST APIs, Git, and CI/CD.
Ability to own a feature end to end with reasonable guidance, and comfort on a small team.
Preferred:
Hands-on experience embedding Power BI in a web application — embed tokens, the Power BI REST API, the JavaScript client library, and row-level security.
Experience working against Databricks (SQL warehouses, Unity Catalog, Delta) or a comparable lakehouse platform.
Familiarity with Databricks Genie or other conversational or LLM-backed analytics interfaces.
Healthcare exposure, particularly clinical, operational, or financial reporting.
Multi-tenant application experience where data isolation between customers matters.
Experience with SQLAlchemy, Alembic, or comparable Python data access and migration tooling.
Azure DevOps, Docker, or containerized deployment experience.
Experience working in a HIPAA-regulated or HITRUST-certified environment.
Essential Competencies:
Ownership — takes a feature from ticket to production and follows through on what breaks.
Curiosity and growth — asks good questions, learns the domain, and levels up quickly.
Clear written and verbal communication with both technical and non-technical partners.
Generalist range and comfort operating on a small, fast-moving engineering team.
Sound handling of protected health information and a security-first mindset.
Attendance is an essential job function.
After you apply, unlock the direct contact details of the people who actually make the call. A quick follow-up makes you 5x more likely to land an interview.
