Job description

Job Summary:

The Reconciliation Analyst Intern will support the team in comparing investment portfolio data from external sources against an advanced web-based reconciliation system. Working alongside experienced analysts, the intern will help ensure the timely and accurate delivery of portfolio status updates to clients, while building foundational skills in financial reconciliation and reporting.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with reviewing and updating reporting data to help meet daily deadlines.
  • Learn to investigate and help address issues within the reconciliation system, with guidance from mentors and department experts.
  • Support the team in building relationships with data providers, clients, and internal stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate curiosity about product innovation opportunities.
  • Build familiarity with internal tools and processes through hands-on training.
  • Develop an understanding of financial concepts and how they apply to reconciliation errors.
  • Communicate professionally with internal and external parties, submitting inquiries and providing updates under supervision.
  • Complete assigned projects or learning modules to deepen technical and industry knowledge.

Required Skills:

  • Basic understanding of investment, financial, and accounting concepts.
  • Familiarity with GAAP and/or IFRS is a plus.
  • Basic understanding of standard security types is a plus.
  • Coursework or interest in securities or financial markets preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, SUMIF, Pivot Tables); VBA a plus.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong documentation skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Eagerness to learn and solve problems.

Education and Experience:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Mathematics, Sciences, or a related field (rising junior/senior preferred).
  • No prior professional experience required.
