We provide a dynamic, in-house curriculum and a wealth of teaching resources, so you can spend less time creating lesson plans and searching for materials and more time doing what you do best: helping students learn and succeed.

You’ll also receive paid training and prep time, along with a supportive community of fellow tutors who are passionate about education. Whether you’re helping a student master a challenging concept, build confidence, or reach an important academic goal, your work makes a real difference.

Schedule Requirements

This role requires a consistent weekly schedule and a minimum of 38 hours of availability, including evenings and weekends.

• The goal is 30+ hours of tutoring per week, though actual hours may vary based on student demand and your subject expertise.

• At least 8 hours of weekend availability required

• Availability must remain consistent from week to week

• Schedules are posted in 2-6 hour blocks and extend 9+ months into the future

• Time-off requests should generally be submitted at least 4 weeks in advance

• Minimum one-year employment commitment

Prime-time availability:

• Monday–Thursday: 3–11 PM ET

• Friday: 3–7 PM ET

• Saturday: 9 AM–7 PM ET

• Sunday: 9 AM–10 PM ET

What You'll Teach

• SAT and ACT test preparation

• High-school mathematics through Algebra II

• Executive function skills such as organization, planning, time management and study strategies

• Additional subjects based on your expertise and Revolution Prep's needs

What You'll Do

• Lead engaging online tutoring sessions using Revolution Prep's curriculum and resources

• Help students understand challenging concepts and develop effective learning strategies

• Prepare for sessions using company-provided materials

• Communicate with students and families about academic progress

• Build supportive relationships that motivate students to reach their goals

• Participate in paid training and ongoing professional development

• Collaborate with Faculty Leaders and fellow tutors to continuously improve your teaching

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree required

• At least 1 year of professional teaching or tutoring experience

• Comfortable teaching math through Algebra II

• Strong communication and presentation skills

• Ability to explain challenging concepts clearly and patiently

• SAT/ACT tutoring or test-preparation experience is a plus

• AP STEM subject expertise is a plus

• Comfortable working independently in a remote environment

• Authorized to work in the U.S. and currently residing in the U.S.

Technology Requirements

You'll need:

• A Mac or PC desktop/laptop

• Reliable high-speed internet with an Ethernet connection

• At least 4GB available RAM

• A quiet, professional workspace suitable for online instruction

Revolution Prep can provide a technology kit for tutors who need one, including a webcam, headset, ring light, green screen and annotation tablet.

Our Hiring Process

After submitting your application, candidates will receive a link to a required approximately 30-minute assessment. The assessment helps Revolution Prep evaluate subject knowledge and overall fit for the Professional Tutor role.

Candidates who advance in the process will also complete a comprehensive background check.

Q&A     

Q: Are there additional responsibilities?    

A: In addition to tutoring, you'll communicate with families about student progress and prepare for sessions using company-provided materials. Both collectively make up around 10% of your workload and are paid time. We also offer ongoing professional development which is paid.     

Q: How flexible is the time-off policy?    

A: Requests for time off must be submitted at least 4 weeks in advance. We understand emergencies happen, so we have systems in place for coverage in those events.     

Q: Is ongoing training part of the role?    

A: Yes, ongoing professional development is required – we offer 24 hours of paid training per year after the initial onboarding.
