Location: Los Angeles, CA (Remote)

Position Description:

EHS Support is seeking an Environmental, Civil, or Hydrology Engineer with 1-5 years of experience to join our team of engineers leading remediation projects across the United States, Australia, and New Zealand. Our team works with a wide variety of clients to address their environmental problems with cutting edge technology and research. This opportunity is for a flexible and self-motivated individual. You will be providing support on projects working with a team of engineers and scientists across multiple service lines including Remediation and Sediment and Risk Assessment. If hired, you can expect to travel as needed based on client and project needs. Field deployments are typically a week or less but may extend for multiple weeks occasionally.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Feasibility studies/corrective measures studies development
  • Remedial alternatives evaluation and design
  • Conceptual site model development
  • Development of engineering designs and bid specification packages
  • Participation in field programs and construction oversight
  • Data analysis
  • Remedial system optimization, operation and maintenance
  • Performance monitoring design and evaluation
  • Permitting (RCRA, Air and NPDES)
  • Hazardous and non-hazardous waste management
  • Reporting (site investigation reports, work plans, remedial action plans, etc.)
  • Project and task management – planning and implementation of scope, schedule, budgeting

Position Requirements:

  • B.S. or M.S. degree in an engineering discipline with the ability to obtain a Professional Engineer license
  • 1-5 years of direct experience in environmental engineering and consulting industry
  • Critical thinking and analytical skills
  • Effective technical writing and oral presentation skills
  • Ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with clients and co-workers
  • Ability to develop presentations and facilitate a meeting – effectively delivering key messages and managing the discussion
  • Effective “networker,” able to develop relationships with clients at many levels and identify and grow existing business opportunities
  • Ability to develop strong internal company relationships
  • Ability to think strategically and conceptually, as well as translate strategy into practical and tactical plans
  • Ability to grow technical skills and take on increasing responsibility for remedial projects
  • Hands-on experience working with mechanical systems, equipment, and field infrastructure
  • Ability to use hand tools and perform system troubleshooting, operation, and maintenance activities in a field environment
  • Highly ranked candidates will have knowledge and/or experience in one or more of the following areas:
  • Environmental remediation and site assessment activities experience, with a focus on remedy selection, remedial action work plan development, remedial system design, operation and maintenance, performance monitoring, and presentation of findings.
  • Federal and state environmental regulations and technical guidance.
  • Design and construction of remedial technologies, which could include in-situ technologies such as groundwater recovery and treatment projects, soil vapor extraction, multi-phase extraction, air sparging/biosparging, in situ chemical oxidation, and monitored natural attenuation, or ex-situ remedies such as excavation, grading, stormwater drainage management, and capping alternatives.
  • Preparation of regulatory submittals, which could include RCRA, NPDES and air discharge permit applications, feasibility studies, corrective measures studies, work plans, remedial design documents and specifications, as-built drawings, and performance monitoring reports.
  • Experience with California regulatory agencies such as the DTSC, RWQCB, SCAQMD, and various APCDs and LOPs preferred.
  • Contractor management.
  • AutoCAD Civil3D software.
  • Microsoft 365 software.
  • PE or EIT certification preferred.
