At VAIRIX, weβre looking for a highly experienced AI & Architecture Technical Specialist who can move seamlessly between system architecture, hands-on engineering, AI implementation, and technical leadership.
This is not a role for someone specialized in just one technology. Weβre looking for a versatile engineer with a strong full-stack foundation who can understand complex business and technical challenges, design scalable solutions, and then jump into the code to make them happen.
Depending on the project, you might act as an Architect, Senior Engineer, Technical Lead, or AI specialist β sometimes all within the same engagement.
Design scalable and maintainable architectures for complex client projects.
Work directly with clients to understand requirements, identify technical constraints, and propose the right architecture and technology stack.
Translate architectural decisions into hands-on implementation, writing production-ready code when needed.
Design and implement AI-powered solutions, including LLM integrations, RAG systems, agents, embeddings, and retrieval pipelines.
Build and improve automation and ML/AI pipelines, including deployment and infrastructure considerations.
Evaluate technologies and make informed architectural decisions based on scalability, maintainability, performance, and trade-offs.
Lead technical discussions, code reviews, and critical engineering decisions.
Troubleshoot complex technical problems that require deep engineering experience.
Document solutions and create reusable patterns, templates, and technical standards.
Share knowledge and provide technical guidance or mentoring to other engineers when needed.
7+ years of professional software engineering experience, including significant experience making architectural decisions.
At least 4 years of experience contributing to or leading software architecture decisions.
Strong hands-on experience with TypeScript.
Real production experience with additional languages such as Python, Go, Rust, or similar.
Hands-on experience building and deploying LLM / RAG solutions in production, including embeddings, retrieval systems, agents, and LLM APIs.
Experience with AI/ML operational workflows, such as pipelines, automation, deployments, and infrastructure-as-code.
Strong understanding of software architecture patterns, distributed systems, scalability, and architectural trade-offs.
Ability to move comfortably between high-level architecture and hands-on implementation.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to navigate ambiguous or complex technical challenges.
Excellent communication skills, including the ability to discuss technical decisions directly with clients and explain complex concepts clearly.
Strong English communication skills, as youβll collaborate directly with international clients and teams.
Previous experience in consulting, Staff Engineer, Principal Engineer, or Technical Architect roles.
Hands-on experience with the Claude API and Anthropic ecosystem.
Experience with modern frameworks and architectures such as Next.js, FastAPI, and Go-based microservices.
DevOps and infrastructure experience with Docker, Kubernetes, serverless architectures, and cloud environments.
Experience designing or implementing agentic AI systems and workflows.
Experience mentoring engineers and guiding teams through architectural decisions.
Weβre looking for someone who feels equally comfortable whiteboarding an architecture with a client, discussing trade-offs with an engineering team, implementing an AI workflow, reviewing a pull request, or troubleshooting a production issue.
The scope may evolve depending on project needs, so adaptability is a key part of the role. Engagement may initially be flexible or project-based, with the possibility of growing into a full-time collaboration as demand evolves.
VAIRIX is a nearshore software development company that partners with startups and growing organizations to build high-quality software and scale engineering teams.
We work in real-time with U.S. clients, combining a boutique approach with strong technical expertise, fast onboarding, and a focus on long-term collaboration.
