JOB TITLE: Senior Programmatic Specialist
DEPARTMENT: Media
REPORTS TO: Group Media Strategy Director
LOCATION: Remote or Hybrid
The Senior Programmatic Specialist is a skilled practitioner who can run campaigns independently across multiple performance channels. You know the platforms well enough to manage complex campaigns without constant oversight. You can troubleshoot problems, spot opportunities, and make smart optimization decisions on your own.
You can manage campaigns across programmatic DSPs, paid social, and paid search with confidence. You have your own perspective on what is working and why, and you are beginning to contribute that perspective to the broader strategy on your accounts.
You are also starting to mentor. Helping guide specialists and assistant specialists identify opportunity, make optimizations, or execute strategy.
• Manage programmatic campaigns across your accounts from setup through optimization and reporting. You are in the platforms daily. Pacing, bid management, audience targeting, creative rotation, frequency management, and delivery troubleshooting.
• Execute campaigns across multiple performance channels. Programmatic DSPs, paid social, paid search. You should be proficient across platforms and able to manage complex campaign structures independently.
• Make smart optimization decisions based on performance data. You can read what the data is telling you, identify what adjustments will improve outcomes, and execute those adjustments without waiting to be told.
• Manage campaign budgets accurately. Track spend against plan, flag pacing issues early, and reconcile discrepancies.
• QA all campaign setups, tracking implementations, and creative specifications before launch.
• Start contributing a strategic perspective to the work. You should be able to look across the campaigns you manage, identify patterns in what is working and what is not, and bring those observations to your Supervisor or Associate Director with a recommendation, not just a data point.
• Begin thinking across channels. When you see something in programmatic performance that might affect paid search or paid social strategy, say so. The ability to connect what is happening in one channel to what should happen in another is the skill that separates a senior specialist from a specialist.
• Contribute to campaign reporting that goes beyond delivery metrics. Help tell the story of what happened, what it means, and what the team should do next. Learn to connect platform data to business outcomes.
• Stay current on platform changes, new features, and targeting capabilities. Bring what you are learning to the team.
• Help Programmatic Specialists when they need support. Answer questions, review setups, share what you have learned.
• Adopt and actively use the department's proprietary planning and audit tools. Engage with the tools critically. Provide feedback on what works and what does not.
• Develop fluency with AI-assisted optimization and planning tools. Understand how automation is changing the execution side of performance media and start building the skills to direct and interpret automated work.
• Collaborate with media strategy teams to ensure performance execution connects to the broader media plan. Understand where your work fits in the larger strategy and flag when something does not align.
The right person for this role is a reliable, independent executor who is starting to think beyond the platform. They are precise, curious, and developing the strategic instincts that will carry them to the next level.
• 3+ years of experience in programmatic media, performance media, or a related discipline. Agency experience preferred.
• Hands-on proficiency across performance media platforms. Programmatic DSPs, paid social, paid search. You can build, manage, optimize, and troubleshoot campaigns without hand-holding.
• The ability to work independently. You do not need someone looking over your shoulder to manage campaigns well. You can be trusted with complex work and tight deadlines.
• A developing strategic perspective. You are starting to move beyond platform metrics and connect what you see in the data to what it means for the client's business.
• Cross-channel awareness. You understand that the channels you manage do not operate in isolation and you are building the instinct to think across them.
• Strong attention to detail. Budgets, setups, tracking, QA. You are precise and consistent.
• Clear communication skills. You can explain what is happening in a campaign and why it matters in terms that are useful to people who are not in the platform with you.
• Openness to new tools and ways of working, including AI-assisted optimization and planning.
• Comprehensive benefits package designed to support your well-being.
• Generous time-off policy.
• Mobile stipend.
• 401k with company match.
• Community involvement with time and financial matching.
• Annual performance reviews with clear development planning.
• Learning and development investment.
