About the Company

You’ll be joining a growing international company building digital products used by customers across multiple markets. The team values thoughtful product design, intuitive user experiences, and high-quality execution.

You’ll work closely with product managers, developers, and business stakeholders to turn complex requirements into polished, user-friendly digital experiences.

Role Type: Full-time

Engagement: Independent Contractor

Job Summary

We’re looking for a versatile UI/UX Designer / Product Designer with 3-5+ years of experience, who can own the design process from early UX thinking and wireframing through high-fidelity UI, prototyping, design systems, and developer handoff.

The ideal candidate combines strong visual design skills with solid UX thinking. You should be comfortable solving complex product problems, creating modern and intuitive interfaces, and working independently with international teams in a fully remote environment.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced designer who wants meaningful ownership over digital products rather than focusing solely on graphic design or visual execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end design process, from discovery and user flows through wireframes, prototypes, high-fidelity UI, and developer handoff.
  • Translate product requirements and business objectives into intuitive, user-centered experiences.
  • Create polished interfaces for responsive web and/or mobile products.
  • Develop user flows, information architecture, wireframes, interactive prototypes, and final UI designs.
  • Build and maintain reusable components, design systems, and UI libraries in Figma.
  • Conduct or incorporate user research, usability feedback, analytics, and stakeholder insights into design decisions.
  • Collaborate closely with product managers, developers, and other stakeholders throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Prepare clear, detailed designs and specifications for engineering handoff.
  • Review implemented designs and work with developers to ensure design quality and consistency.
  • Identify UX issues and opportunities to improve usability, accessibility, conversion, and overall product experience.
  • Communicate design decisions clearly and confidently to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Requirements

  • 3–5+ years of professional UI/UX, Product Design, or equivalent experience.
  • A strong portfolio demonstrating real-world web and/or mobile product design.
  • Advanced proficiency with Figma, including Auto Layout, components, variants, and reusable design systems.
  • Strong understanding of UX fundamentals, including user flows, information architecture, wireframing, prototyping, and usability.
  • Strong visual design skills with excellent understanding of typography, spacing, hierarchy, layout, and visual consistency.
  • Experience designing responsive web and/or mobile interfaces.
  • Experience creating and maintaining design systems and component libraries.
  • Comfortable incorporating user research and usability feedback into design decisions.
  • Strong understanding of accessibility and user-centered design principles.
  • Experience collaborating with developers and preparing designs for engineering handoff.
  • Excellent written and spoken English.
  • Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and communicate effectively in a fully remote environment.

Portfolio Signs We Prioritize:

Your portfolio should demonstrate how you think, not just how your designs look.

Strong candidates will ideally show:

  • Clear case studies explaining the problem, process, decisions, and outcome.
  • The progression from wireframes → prototypes → final UI.
  • Experience with SaaS platforms, dashboards, mobile apps, marketplaces, or other complex digital products.
  • Complex user journeys and product workflows rather than primarily marketing or landing pages.
  • Strong consistency in typography, spacing, hierarchy, grids, and visual systems.
  • Responsive design across different screen sizes and devices.
  • Design systems, component libraries, and reusable UI patterns.
  • Evidence that products were actually built and shipped.
  • Clear reasoning behind important UX and UI decisions.

Nice-to-Haves:

  • Experience designing SaaS or B2B products.
  • Basic understanding of HTML/CSS.
  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite, Framer, or similar design tools.
  • Experience using product analytics or participating in A/B testing.
  • Previous experience working with UK, US, Canadian, European, or Australian companies.
  • Experience collaborating with distributed or international product and engineering teams.
