About the Opportunity:

The Associate Director, Treasury is responsible for leading the organization’s global treasury function, including cash management, banking operations, liquidity planning, working capital oversight, and treasury controls across all entities. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, this role owns cash visibility and forecasting, oversees banking relationships and access governance, and ensures effective management of cash movement, payment governance, and financial risk. The role partners closely with FP&A, Controllership and Investments, and external financial institutions to support short- and long-term cash planning, investment liquidity needs, payroll funding, and cross-entity cash operations. This role also drives treasury process standardization, policy development, ERP and banking-system automation, and scalable controls to support WES’s global growth.

  • Lead global treasury operations across all entities, including daily cash positioning, liquidity management, cash transfers, pooling structures, and capital optimization.
  • Develop and maintain the global working capital model, including cash balance reporting, weekly working capital analysis, cash flow visibility, and cash optimization across operating entities.
  • Own short-term and long-term cash forecasting in partnership with FP&A, Controllership, Investments, and Finance leadership to support operating decisions, investment planning, funding needs, and liquidity strategy.
  • Oversee global banking operations, including bank relationships, account setup and maintenance, banking documentation, authorized signers, user access, bank portal administration, and global account structures.
  • Lead, mentor, develop a high-performing treasury function, establishing clear roles and responsibilities and best practices, strengthening team capabilities, supporting professional development, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Govern treasury controls, including segregation of duties, payment approvals, dual controls, fraud prevention, bank access governance, signatory management, recurring access reviews, risk assessments, issue tracking, and remediation of control gaps.
  • Oversee cash disbursement governance, including ACH, wire, international payments, internal transfers, payment approvals, banking controls, and alignment with AP, Payroll, Controllership, and Investment activities.
  • Monitor and optimize cash inflows and outflows, including AP disbursements and payroll cash requirements.
  • Drive automation and integration of banking and treasury systems with the ERP, including bank feeds, host-to-host connections, bank-to-bank integrations, automated reporting, and process improvements that increase efficiency, accuracy, and cash visibility.

Your Experience:

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business, or related field or equivalent work experience.
  • 5-8 years of experience in treasury, cash management, or corporate finance
  • Proven ability to partner effectively with senior leadership and cross-functional business partners.
  • Experience managing global treasury operations across multiple entities or geographies.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading or managing a team,
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative, and dynamic team environment.
  • Ability to operate autonomously while being a team player who brings a positive attitude.
  • Act as a culture champion, modeling the organization’s values and ways of working.
  • Sage Intacct and/or other cloud-based ERP systems and Vena budgeting software experience preferred.
  • Systems integration and transformation experience desired.
  • Strong alignment with WES mission and values and demonstrates a growth mindset

Desired

  • Certified Treasury Professional (CTP) preferred
  • Experience in a nonprofit, social enterprise, or mission-driven organization.
  • This role is a remote first role with possible requirements to travel to the New York or Toronto office, potentially 2-3 times per year.
