Job description

We are looking for an experienced Functional Analyst to join our Financial Markets FX project team. In this role, you will act as the bridge between business stakeholders and the development team - gathering and analysing requirements, designing functional solutions in the FX domain, and ensuring that what gets built truly reflects what the business needs. You will take ownership of selected project workstreams, actively contribute to solution testing, and bring a solid understanding of FX products and market conventions to every stage of delivery.

Requirements:

  • At least 2 years of experience as a Functional Analyst, Business Analyst, or similar role in a Financial Markets or Capital Markets environment

  • Solid knowledge of FX products and market conventions: spot, forwards, swaps, options, NDFs, and related instruments

  • Proven ability to elicit, document, and analyse business requirements from diverse stakeholders

  • Experience translating business requirements into clear functional and technical specifications (user stories, process flows, data mappings, use cases)

  • Ability to work closely and effectively with software development teams throughout the full project lifecycle

  • Familiarity with software testing methodologies: test planning, test case design, SIT, UAT coordination, and defect management

  • Strong ownership mindset - comfortable leading individual project workstreams and managing deliverables independently

  • Fluent English, both written and verbal

Nice to have:

  • Experience working with treasury or trading platforms such as Murex, Calypso, or Kondor+

  • Experience with electronic trading platforms or ECNs (e.g. 360T, FXall, Bloomberg FXGO)

  • Familiarity with FX-related protocols and standards: FIX, SWIFT

  • Knowledge of front-to-back FX trade flow: execution, confirmation, settlement, and reconciliation

  • Understanding of regulatory frameworks relevant to FX trading (e.g. EMIR, MiFID II)

  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum or hybrid project delivery environments

  • Exposure to data analysis tools (SQL, Excel, Power BI) for requirement validation and testing support

  • Practical use of AI-assisted tools for documentation, requirement analysis, or test case generation

Main responsibilities:

  • Gather, analyse, and document business and functional requirements in close collaboration with business stakeholders and subject matter experts

  • Design functional solutions for FX applications, covering process flows, data models, and system behaviour specifications

  • Translate business requirements into detailed functional and technical documentation consumable by the development team

  • Act as the primary point of contact between business and technology for assigned project workstreams

  • Lead and manage selected project workstreams - coordinating tasks, tracking progress, and escalating risks where needed

  • Plan and execute functional testing activities, including preparation of test cases, execution of SIT and UAT, and management of defect resolution

  • Participate in solution walkthroughs, sprint reviews, and stakeholder demonstrations

  • Maintain clear and up-to-date project documentation throughout the delivery lifecycle

  • Collaborate closely with business stakeholders to translate FX domain requirements into technical specifications
