Job description

Overview:

Armoured One located in Syracuse, NY is recruiting for a full time Manufacturing Technician / Field Installer Dual Role. In this position, under the direction of the Director of Manufacturing Operations and Field Services Project Manager, is responsible for the process of laminating glass, routine maintenance on all machinery related to production and implementing quality control standards for each finished product. In addition, this position, under the direction of the Field Services Project Manager, is responsible for the installation of film and other duties necessary for field services.

Responsibilities:

Manufacturing Technician Responsibilities:

  • Receive glass shipments, conduct a quality inspection, and organize/store in an orderly manner. Perform routine and preventative maintenance of equipment related to the production process. Load glass onto the in-feed table, keeping in mind the set dimensions (within the markers on the in-feed table) of the Glass Washer and Laminator, to ensure optimal safety and efficiency.
  • Manually operate Glass Washer to thoroughly clean glass as it passes through in-feed and into the Clean Room and operate the Laminator with all safety protocols in place while keeping a keen eye on attention to detail as the glass completes the production process.
  • Organize pieces of glass by dimension and project name / address and keep an accurate record of any discrepancies, wasted or scrap laminate and the total number of pieces run through the Laminator
  • Record order of operations through Rootstock to keep track of order and its whereabouts within the process.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of all immediate workstations and other various areas as applicable.
  • Keep inventory of production materials, cleaning supplies and available tools needed to complete tasks.
  • Stage glass in designated shipping area, so projects can be properly inspected and placed in a crate for shipment. Routine building cleaning as requested/needed.
  • Work in accordance with all safety protocols and standards complying with all company policies and regulations. Comply with OSHA and EPA regulations.

Field Installer Responsibilities:

  • Travel to local and out-of-state job sites and install security film on existing windows.
  • Cut and prepare security film for jobs.
  • Measure existing windows for film sizes.
  • Maintain project reports as needed.
  • Support supervisor with coordinating projects and communicating with contractors.
  • Assist with the training of new employees and licensed installers.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.
