Senior Building Regulations & Compliance Consultant

As SOCOTEC grows, so do our teams. We're looking for a dedicated Building Regulations & Compliance Consultant to join our Building Compliance Consultancy team and wear the SOCOTEC badge with pride.

We are seeking a proactive, reliable, and flexible Building Regulations & Compliance Consultant to join our Building Regulations & Compliance Consultant team. In this role, you'll need the confidence to work independently, alongside the ability to collaborate effectively as part of a team. A background in Building Surveying, Architecture, Construction Management, along with knowledge of the legal framework behind building regulations and technical design including commercial fit out, is essential to thrive in this position.

The tasks you will undertake will include (but are not limited to):
• Reviewing plans, drawings, specifications, and other documents submitted for consultant approval to ensure they comply with building regulations and other related legislation
• Carry out inspections of buildings prior and during construction to verify compliance with regulations related to public health, fire safety, energy conservation, sustainability, and building accessibility
• Proactive liaison with design teams to identify key hazards and interfaces with other designers and facilitation of risk workshops for the project
 

Qualifications

To be a successful Building Regulations & Compliance Consultant, you should be able to demonstrate:
• A relevant bachelor's degree – Building Surveying, Architecture, Construction Management
• Good understanding of the legal framework behind building regulations and good knowledge of technical design including commercial fit out
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, strong organisational skills, and proficiency in Microsoft word, excel and other MS Office software
