Syndax Pharmaceuticals is looking for an Associate Director, Logistics

The Role:

The Associate Director, Logistics is responsible for leading and optimizing pharmaceutical logistics operations across domestic and international supply chains. This role provides strategic and operational leadership for the movement of commercial and clinical pharmaceutical products, including temperature-sensitive materials, while ensuring compliance with applicable Good Distribution Practices (GDP), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Drug Supply Chain Security Act (DSCSA), regulatory requirements, and company quality standards.

The Associate Director will oversee logistics service providers, transportation, warehousing, distribution, import/export activities, and logistics performance. The role will partner closely with Quality, Manufacturing, Commercial, Regulatory, Finance, and external logistics partners to ensure reliable, compliant, cost-effective, and patient-focused product delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead end-to-end logistics operations across domestic and international markets.
  • Oversee transportation, warehousing, distribution, freight forwarding, customs, and third-party logistics (3PL) activities.
  • Monitor capacity, service levels, lead times, and logistics network performance.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve efficiency, service, resilience, and cost.
  • Oversee serialized product data management, including the generation, exchange, reconciliation, and maintenance of product identifiers and transaction information across internal systems and external trading partners.
  • Manage serialization-related exceptions, data discrepancies, aggregation issues, verification requests, and other operational events through appropriate investigation and resolution processes.
  • Partner with Quality to manage temperature excursions, deviations, investigations, CAPAs, and change controls.
  • Ensure logistics operations comply with GDP/GMP requirements and applicable regulatory expectations.
  • Drive risk assessments and mitigation strategies for transportation lanes, suppliers, and distribution networks.
  • Maintain appropriate documentation, traceability, and chain-of-custody controls.
  • Analyze transportation and logistics spending and identify opportunities for optimization.
  • Provide logistics expertise during business continuity and supply disruption events.

Desired Experience/Education and Personal Attributes:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in logistics, supply chain, transportation, or distribution, preferably within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or other regulated industry.
  • Demonstrated experience managing domestic and/or international pharmaceutical logistics operations.
  • Strong knowledge of GDP/GMP requirements and pharmaceutical distribution practices.
  • Experience managing 3PLs, transportation providers, freight forwarders, and other logistics partners.
  • Experience with temperature-controlled/cold-chain logistics.
  • Strong analytical, financial, strategic-planning and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Excellent written, verbal, presentation and executive communication skills.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment, able to effectively manage multiple activities and problem-solve to achieve business needs.
  • Business travel, to various company offices, suppliers, and partners as required.

Location: Syndax’s corporate office is in New York, NY.

Syndax offers a total compensation and rewards package that is among the most competitive in the industry. Base pay is just one element of our package and is determined within a range based on several factors including market data, experience, qualifications, demonstrated skills, relevant education or training, travel requirements and internal equity. Our overall package also includes an equity offering, annual target bonuses, and an outstanding benefits program. The anticipated annualized salary range for this role is $180,000 - $210,000.
