Arrowhead Intermediaries is seeking a Counsel, Arrowhead Intermediaries to join our growing team! 

Reporting to the Chief Counsel, Arrowhead Intermediaries, the Counsel will provide legal support to the Arrowhead Intermediaries platform across its three divisions. This role will assist with legal, regulatory, contract, governance, and operational matters related to specialty distribution insurance operations, including programs, wholesale, and specialty businesses. The Counsel will work closely with business leaders, compliance, finance, technology, team resources, and members of the Brown & Brown Legal Department to support sound legal guidance, mitigate risk, and enable responsible business growth. 

How You Will Contribute:   

  • Assist the Chief Counsel, Arrowhead Intermediaries with legal matters supporting specialty distribution insurance operations across Arrowhead Intermediaries’ wholesale, programs and specialty divisions. 

  • Support the Chief Counsel and business in analyzing legal and compliance matters related to strategic initiatives, including new product development, new program launches, cross-border projects and M&A. 

  • Draft, review, and negotiate routine and complex contracts, including all forms of insurance distribution agreements and related commercial contracts such as, producer agreements, program administration agreements, claims administration agreements, fronting agreements, vendor agreements, non-disclosure agreements, and related business contracts. 

  • Work collaboratively across wholesale, programs and specialty divisions with business and operations, compliance, IT, finance, tax, team resources and leadership teams to provide clear, pragmatic advice to support specialty distribution initiatives. 

  • Research and monitor applicable insurance laws, regulations, and regulatory developments impacting supported businesses. 

  • Assist with pre-litigation of matters, claims, disputes, subpoenas, regulatory inquiries, and internal investigations. 

  • Support corporate governance, entity management, internal policies, ethics, and compliance initiatives as needed. 

  • Collaborate with enterprise partners, including tax, IT, finance, compliance, privacy, technology counsel, regulatory counsel, litigation counsel, and team resources. 

  • Escalate significant legal, regulatory, or business risk matters to the Chief Counsel or appropriate Legal Department leader. 

Licenses and Certifications:    

  • Active license to practice law and member in good standing with at least one U.S. state bar. 

Skills & Experience to Be Successful:  

  • Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school. 

  • At least 7 years of legal experience focused on general corporate and transactional matters with three to five years of experience in-house at an insurance carrier, MGA, MGU, insurance brokerage, wholesale brokerage, or with a law firm advising (re)insurance clients. Carrier or MGA experience is required. 

  • Strong knowledge of US admitted and E&S market regulation. Working knowledge of US cybersecurity, privacy, and AI regulation. Familiarity with Bermuda, UK and EU (re)insurance regulatory regimes helpful. 

  • Strong drafting, legal research, analytical, negotiation, and communication skills. 

  • Ability to work independently while appropriately escalating issues to senior legal counsel. 

  • Ability to partner effectively with business leaders and cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, decentralized environment. 

  • High level of discretion and ability to maintain confidentiality. 

  • 10–25% as needed for projects, meetings, or visits to supported Profit Centers. 

Pay Range

$175,000 - $225,000 Annual

The pay range provided above is made in good faith and based on our lowest and highest annual salary or hourly rate paid for the role and takes into account years of experience required, geography, and/or budget for the role.
