Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead EMS transformation, automation, client onboarding, and operational improvement projects within a growing managed services organization. This role will manage cross-functional initiatives, drive project execution, mitigate risks, and ensure successful delivery of business objectives. The ideal candidate brings strong project management expertise, stakeholder management skills, and a proven track record of delivering measurable business results.

Responsibilities

Program & Project Leadership

  • Lead multiple complex EMS projects and strategic initiatives from inception through implementation and post-launch stabilization.
  • Develop and manage integrated project plans including scope, milestones, dependencies, risks, resources, and timelines.
  • Establish project governance frameworks, communication plans, escalation processes, and leadership reporting.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams across Operations, Technology, Automation, Finance, Banking, Compliance, Product, and Client Services.
  • Ensure project deliverables are completed on time, within scope, and aligned with business objectives.
  • Create clear and visually engaging project roadmaps, dashboards, and executive presentations using tools such as Jira, Smartsheet, PowerPoint, and Excel.

EMS Transformation & Automation

  • Manage initiatives supporting the EMS automation and digital transformation roadmap.
  • Coordinate requirements gathering, solution design, development, testing, user acceptance testing (UAT), deployment, and stabilization activities.
  • Partner with business and technical stakeholders to streamline workflows and identify automation opportunities.
  • Oversee automation projects related to:
    • Client onboarding
    • Account setup and maintenance
    • Master data validation
    • Invoice processing
    • Payment operations
    • Reporting and analytics
    • Exception management
  • Support Intelligent Document Processing (IDP), workflow automation, and AI-driven process improvement initiatives.

Client Onboarding & Implementations

  • Lead enterprise client implementations and expansion initiatives across the EMS portfolio.
  • Develop comprehensive implementation plans covering:
    • Requirements gathering
    • Data migration
    • System integration
    • Testing
    • Training
    • Operational readiness
    • Go-live activities
  • Coordinate internal and client-facing dependencies to ensure successful onboarding and timely revenue realization.
  • Conduct readiness assessments and lead stabilization efforts following deployment.

Operations Excellence

  • Drive projects impacting invoice management, data extraction, payment processing, quality assurance, reporting, and back-office operations.
  • Collaborate with operational leaders to align project plans with real-world business processes and service delivery requirements.
  • Support process documentation, SOP development, controls, training programs, and change management initiatives.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve scalability, efficiency, productivity, service quality, and profitability.

Banking & Payment Operations

  • Manage initiatives involving banking transitions, payment operations, financial integrations, and related process changes.
  • Coordinate activities among banking partners, compliance teams, technology organizations, finance groups, client stakeholders, and EMS operations.
  • Develop and execute transition plans including testing, cutover strategies, approvals, risk mitigation, and post-go-live support.
  • Ensure operational, financial, regulatory, and client risks are proactively identified and managed.

Risk, Issue & Dependency Management

  • Maintain comprehensive risk, issue, action, decision, and dependency logs.
  • Proactively identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Escalate critical issues with clear business impact assessments and recommended solutions.
  • Manage dependencies across business teams, technology groups, vendors, and client organizations.
  • Monitor risks related to data quality, resource availability, development timelines, testing schedules, and subject matter expert engagement.

Executive Reporting & Governance

  • Prepare executive-level status reports and presentations highlighting:
    • Program health
    • Milestone progress
    • Key accomplishments
    • Risks and issues
    • Decisions required
    • Resource needs
  • Provide a consolidated portfolio view across multiple EMS programs and initiatives.
  • Facilitate governance meetings, steering committees, and leadership reviews.
  • Develop dashboards and performance reporting that support informed decision-making.
  • Ensure project documentation and approvals are maintained in a structured and auditable manner.

Stakeholder & Resource Management

  • Influence and coordinate cross-functional teams in a matrixed environment.
  • Partner with leadership to identify and resolve resource constraints.
  • Define clear ownership, responsibilities, and accountability across workstreams.
  • Build strong relationships with business leaders, technology teams, clients, vendors, and external partners.
  • Mentor project managers, analysts, and coordinators supporting EMS initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Project Management, Technology, Finance, Operations, or a related discipline.
  • 8+ years of progressive Program or Project Management experience.
  • Proven success leading large-scale, cross-functional business and technology initiatives.
  • Experience delivering transformation, automation, operations, managed services, financial services, or process improvement programs.
  • Strong expertise in project planning, milestone management, risk management, dependency tracking, and resource coordination.
  • Experience communicating effectively with senior leaders and executive stakeholders.
  • Advanced analytical, operational, financial, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to simplify complex technical and operational concepts into clear business communication.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Experience using Jira, Smartsheet, Microsoft Project, or similar project management platforms.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • PMP, PgMP, Agile, Scrum, or related project management certification.
  • Experience within utility management, accounts payable, invoice processing, banking, payment operations, fintech, or managed services environments.
  • Experience managing enterprise client implementations and operational transformations.
  • Knowledge of automation technologies, workflow solutions, AI platforms, and Intelligent Document Processing (IDP).
  • Familiarity with Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid project delivery methodologies.
  • Experience leading globally distributed and cross-functional teams.

The base salary for this position is $106,087- $130,905 plus incentives that align with individual and company performance. Actual salaries will vary based on work location, qualifications, skills, education, experience, and competencies. Benefits available to eligible employees in this role include medical, dental, and vision insurance, comprehensive employee assistance program, 401(k) retirement plan, paid time off and holidays and paid learning days.
