Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced WordPress Developer with at least 3 years of professional experience to join a growing team remotely.

You will be responsible for building, customizing, optimizing, and maintaining high-quality WordPress websites. This role requires strong hands-on experience with WordPress, PHP, HTML, CSS, theme development, plugin development, website performance, SEO, and security.

The ideal candidate is comfortable working across both front-end and back-end development and can independently troubleshoot technical issues while delivering fast, responsive, secure, and user-friendly websites.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and customize WordPress themes, website layouts, templates, and styles using HTML, CSS, PHP, and WordPress best practices.
  • Develop custom WordPress plugins, extensions, and functionality when existing solutions do not meet project requirements.
  • Manage both user-facing website functionality and back-end components, including server-side logic and database interactions.
  • Improve page loading speeds, Core Web Vitals, website performance, and overall user experience across desktop and mobile devices.
  • Implement technical and on-page SEO best practices to improve website structure, crawlability, performance, and search engine visibility.
  • Ensure websites are fully responsive and provide a consistent experience across mobile, tablet, and desktop devices.
  • Conduct security checks and audits, manage WordPress core, theme, and plugin updates, and follow security best practices.
  • Diagnose and resolve website errors, plugin conflicts, broken functionality, performance issues, and other technical bugs.
  • Perform regular website and database backups and support restoration or recovery when required.
  • Test websites and new functionality before deployment to ensure reliability, compatibility, and performance.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of professional WordPress development experience.
  • Strong proficiency in WordPress, PHP, HTML5, and CSS3.
  • Proven experience developing and customizing WordPress themes.
  • Experience building or modifying custom WordPress plugins.
  • Strong understanding of both front-end and back-end web development.
  • Experience working with WordPress databases and server-side functionality.
  • Knowledge of responsive and mobile-first development.
  • Practical experience with website speed and performance optimization.
  • Understanding of technical SEO and SEO-friendly web development.
  • Knowledge of WordPress security best practices, updates, backups, and ongoing maintenance.
  • Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment and manage development tasks effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing clean, reliable, high-quality work.
