POSITION SUMMARY:

World Relief seeks a Portfolio Development Manager (PDM) for the large, regional U.S. Offices. As a strategic leader, the PDM serves as the primary liaison between the home office and this designated cluster of offices providing support to activate private revenue growth. In this role, you’ll guide external engagement strategies that integrate donor development, church partnerships, and private fundraising initiatives.

PDMs are trusted advisors who ensure each office’s plans align with World Relief’s broader mission while honoring the unique context and strengths of local teams. This is a high-impact role for someone who thrives at the intersection of strategy through project management, relationship-building, and mission-driven leadership.

 
ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • This role is responsible for supervising others and includes responsibilities consistent with supervising employees, including but not limited to monitoring daily work activities, tracking and approving timesheets including approving time off, monitoring performance including entering goals, progress check-ins, and weekly or bi-weekly check-ins, documenting performance concerns, entering staff promotions, transitions, and separations in HRIS within required time frame. Managers at World Relief are also considered spiritual leaders and are expected to lead staff in a manner consistent with our Christian values, including but not limited to praying with staff, leading devotionals, and fostering a Christian environment in interactions with staff throughout World Relief.
  • Strategic Planning & Implementation

  • With U.S. Office Advancement leadership, co-develop and implement integrated Advancement strategies, including church engagement, donor acquisition, and private fundraising to achieve financial goals
  • Guide the execution of donor acquisition and brand amplification strategies tailored to local office strengths and opportunities
  • Lead cross-functional advancement initiatives from strategy through implementation, establishing clear project plans, timelines, and accountability structures to ensure successful execution across teams, channels, and offices
  • Provide thought leadership to the portfolio of offices, building relational capital and exercising sound judgment in navigating advancement strategy for each office
  •  

    Capacity Building, Coaching & Resourcing the Local Office

  • Monitor and support local offices in achieving quarterly lead and lag indicators and annual fundraising goals comprehensive of donor/church partner acquisition, pipeline development and retention
  • Work with Communications Support Officer (CSO) to identify strengths and gaps in local messaging and branding, including story collection, social media, email marketing, and adherence to brand guidelines
  • Allocate centralized support through the Development Support Officer (DSO) for all breadth stewardship and local office development needs
  • Campaign & Product Leadership

  • Champion and project manage the full adoption of major national campaigns across assigned offices— serving as the lead advocate and liaison to ensure every office fully understands, implements, and aligns with campaign goals, messaging, and deliverables
  • Lead campaign readiness and execution across assigned offices, coordinating major donor and mass marketing strategies, managing timelines and deliverables, and ensuring teams have the resources, tools, and support necessary to achieve campaign goals.
  • Tools & Data-Informed Portfolio Development

  • Provide training and support in the use of HubSpot, Dynamics, RENXT and other CRM tools to build and manage donor pipelines and ensure proper usage
  • Assist in portfolio analysis, goal setting, and opportunity tiering to optimize fundraising efforts
  • Coach local fundraising staff on sales processes, meeting scheduling, pitch development, and partner care strategies
  • Act as a liaison with Strategic Partnership Directors, Partnership Trust Impact Team and Corporate and Foundations Team to assist offices in developing proposals, and reports for major donors and foundations as opportunities arise
  • Facilitate cross-office learning and best practice sharing to strengthen national fundraising capacity
  • Provide instruction on portfolio management practices, including use of NXT, annual forecasting, donor strategy guides and portfolio tiering
  • In collaboration with Sales Process and Pipeline team, provide U.S. offices with prospective leads based on and wealth research offering support and training on lead cultivation

  • Able to affirm and/or acknowledge World Reliefs Core Beliefs, Statement of Faith, Christian Identity and National Association of Evangelicals' For the Health of The Nation document
  • Bachelors degree, preferably in Business Administration, Non-Profit Management, Marketing, Communications, or a related field
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in nonprofit fundraising including major gift pipeline development
  • 2+ years of direct supervisory experience, including performance management, goal tracking, professional development, and team coaching
  • Strong project management skills with proven track record of seeing projects from ideation through implementation to completion

  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams, leverage personal influence to reach goals, and foster strong collaboration
  • Strong people management skills, with a passion for working through a team to engage stakeholders with giving opportunities
  • Possess excellent communication skills and emotional intelligence, with the ability to step into challenging interpersonal situations, address conflict and maintain long-term relationships
  • Experience with Raisers Edge NXT
  • Experience with HubSpot
  • Ability to use with fluency all Microsoft programs such as Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook
