Job description

This is a remote position.

Role Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled DevOps Engineer with specialized expertise in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) to join our engineering team. You will serve as the bridge between software development and IT operations, ensuring the rapid, secure, and reliable delivery of applications. You will be responsible for automating CI/CD pipelines, provisioning and managing scalable OCI environments using Infrastructure as Code (IaC),and embedding DevSecOps best practices throughout the software development lifecycle. The ideal candidate has deep technical knowledge of OCI native services, container orchestration, and a passion for optimizing cloud performance and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities Cloud Infrastructure & Automation

● Design, provision, and maintain highly available and scalable cloud infrastructure on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) using computer, networking, and storage services.

● Implement and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, OCI Resource Manager, or Ansible to ensure consistent, version-controlled environment configurations.

● Configure and optimize Oracle Kubernetes Engine (OKE) clusters and containerized applications using Docker.

● Manage network architecture within OCI, including Virtual Cloud Networks (VCNs), subnets, load balancers, security lists, and VPN/FastConnect integrations. CI/CD & Deployment Operations

● Develop, maintain, and optimize continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines utilizing OCI DevOps Service, Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or GitHub Actions.

● Automate code testing, security scanning, and deployment processes to facilitate frequent and reliable software releases with minimal downtime.

● Manage artifact repositories and container registries to securely house application builds. Security, Monitoring, & Incident Response (DevSecOps)

● Integrate automated security checks and vulnerability scanning directly into the deployment pipeline.

● Manage OCI security features, including OCI Identity and Access Management (IAM), Security Zones, Cloud Guard, and OCI Vault for robust key and secret management.

● Establish and maintain comprehensive logging, alerting, and observability platforms (using OCI native monitoring, Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK stack).

● Lead incident response, troubleshoot infrastructure bottlenecks, and conduct root-cause analyses for production issues. Collaboration & Strategy

● Partner closely with software engineers, QA, and security teams to align technical initiatives, reduce handoff friction, and establish enterprise-wide operational guidelines.

● Maintain accurate technical documentation for deployment standards, operational runbooks, and automation workflows.

Required Qualifications

● Experience: 5-7+ years of experience in a DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), or Cloud Engineering role, with demonstrable hands-on experience managing Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).

● Infrastructure as Code: Proficiency in Terraform, OCI Resource Manager, or CloudFormation.

● Containerization: Strong practical knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes (specifically Oracle Kubernetes Engine - OKE).

● CI/CD Tooling: Experience designing automated deployment pipelines using OCI DevOps, Jenkins, GitLab, or similar platforms.

● Scripting: Proficiency in at least one scripting language such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.

● OS & Networking: Deep understanding of Linux/Unix administration, TCP/IP, DNS, and fundamental cloud networking concepts (VCNs, firewalls, load balancing).

● Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
