Job description

Envitia is a UK-based software and services company that helps organisations unlock the full value of their data to make better, faster decisions. With over 30 years of experience, we specialise in delivering innovative software products, solutions, and consultancy services that transform complex data challenges into actionable insights.

Our mission is to empower customers across defence, government, and national security sectors to harness the power of data — from geospatial intelligence to advanced analytics and AI integration. We are proud to be a trusted partner to UK defence and government organisations, delivering technology that drives smarter, data-driven outcomes.

We’re also delighted to have been named one of The Sunday Times Top 100 Medium-Sized Companies, a recognition of our commitment to innovation, collaboration, and creating an outstanding workplace where people can thrive.

The Role

At Envitia, we're looking for a Data Analyst to join our growing Data & Digital capability, helping customers and internal teams harness the power of data to solve complex challenges and drive informed decision-making. Working across a variety of projects, you'll collect, analyse and interpret data, transforming raw information into clear reports, dashboards and actionable recommendations that deliver real value.

This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career analyst or someone looking to further develop their data and analytics expertise within a supportive and collaborative environment. You'll work alongside experienced analysts, consultants and technical specialists, gaining exposure to modern analytics tools and techniques while building the skills needed to progress your career in data and digital consulting.

Using technologies such as Excel, SQL, Power BI and Microsoft Fabric, you'll help uncover trends, measure performance and provide insights that support business and client objectives. From developing dashboards and KPI reporting to analysing complex datasets and presenting findings to stakeholders, you'll play a key role in helping organisations make sense of their data.

We're looking for someone who is naturally curious, analytical and detail-oriented, with a passion for problem-solving and continuous learning. You'll enjoy working with data, asking questions and communicating insights clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Joining Envitia means becoming part of a people-focused organisation where collaboration, innovation and professional development are actively encouraged. Whether you're building your analytical expertise, expanding your technical skills, or developing your consulting capability, you'll have the opportunity to learn from experienced professionals while contributing to projects that make a genuine impact.

Responsibilities

As a Data Analyst, you'll help transform data into meaningful insights that support business and client decision-making. Working alongside experienced analysts, consultants and technical specialists, you'll be responsible for collecting, preparing and analysing data, creating reports and dashboards, and communicating findings that help stakeholders understand performance, identify opportunities and make informed decisions.

  • Collect, organise and maintain data from a variety of sources, ensuring it is accurate, complete and ready for analysis.
  • Clean and prepare datasets by identifying and resolving inconsistencies, duplicates and data quality issues.
  • Analyse data using tools such as Excel, SQL, Power BI and Microsoft Fabric to identify trends, patterns and actionable insights.
  • Create clear and engaging dashboards, reports and visualisations that communicate findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Support the development and monitoring of key performance indicators (KPIs) and business performance metrics.
  • Collaborate with analysts, consultants and stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into meaningful analytical outputs.
  • Assist with the maintenance and enhancement of reporting solutions, databases and data management processes.
  • Present findings and recommendations in a clear and understandable manner, helping stakeholders make evidence-based decisions.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of data quality, reporting standards and analytical best practices.
  • Support project delivery by providing accurate analysis and timely reporting across multiple activities and priorities.
  • Work closely with senior colleagues to develop your technical, analytical and consulting skills.

Essential Skills & Experience

We're looking for a curious and analytical individual who is passionate about data and enjoys turning information into meaningful insights. You'll have a strong foundation in data analysis, excellent attention to detail and a desire to continually develop your technical and analytical capabilities within a collaborative environment.

  • Experience using Excel for data analysis, manipulation and reporting.
  • Working knowledge of at least one analytics or reporting tool such as SQL, Power BI, Microsoft Fabric or similar technologies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify trends, patterns and insights from data.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work.
  • Experience working with data cleansing, validation and quality assurance processes.
  • Ability to communicate findings clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
  • A collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • A willingness to learn new tools, technologies and analytical techniques.

Desirable Skills & Experience

  • Experience using SQL for data extraction, manipulation and analysis.
  • Exposure to Power BI, Microsoft Fabric or other business intelligence and reporting platforms.
  • Knowledge of Python or other programming languages for data analysis and automation.
  • Experience creating dashboards, reports and data visualisations for business users.
  • Understanding of data visualisation best practices and storytelling with data.
  • Experience working with databases, data warehouses or cloud-based data platforms.
  • Knowledge of KPI development, performance reporting and business metrics.
