Medical Scribe – Remote (Colombia)

Location: Remote – Colombia
Employment Type: Full-Time / Part-Time, depending on client needs

About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Medical Scribe based in Colombia to provide remote documentation support to U.S.-based healthcare providers. The Medical Scribe will assist physicians and other clinical professionals by accurately documenting patient encounters, updating electronic medical records (EMRs/EHRs), and ensuring clinical documentation is complete, organized, and timely.

The ideal candidate has prior experience in medical scribing or clinical documentation, a strong understanding of medical terminology, and excellent written and verbal English skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Document patient encounters accurately and efficiently in the client's EMR/EHR system.
  • Prepare and update clinical notes, including patient histories, assessments, treatment plans, and follow-up instructions.
  • Assist providers with real-time or asynchronous medical documentation.
  • Review documentation for accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
  • Enter relevant patient information, medical history, medications, diagnoses, and procedures into the EMR/EHR.
  • Support providers with chart preparation and other documentation-related administrative tasks.
  • Maintain strict patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and other applicable healthcare privacy requirements.
  • Communicate professionally with physicians, clinical staff, and other members of the healthcare team.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a Medical Scribe, Medical Virtual Assistant, Clinical Documentation Specialist, or similar healthcare role.
  • Experience supporting U.S.-based healthcare providers strongly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, diagnoses, medications, and common clinical procedures.
  • Previous experience using EMR/EHR systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Strong typing, listening, and documentation skills.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
  • Reliable computer, high-speed internet connection, and a quiet workspace.
  • Ability to work during U.S. business hours as required by the client.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Educational or professional background in medicine, nursing, pharmacy, allied health, or another healthcare-related field.
  • Experience supporting different U.S. medical specialties.
  • Familiarity with U.S. healthcare workflows and HIPAA requirements.
  • Experience working with multiple EMR/EHR platforms.
