  • Help translate investment expertise into practical solutions and insights for advisers and clients

Perpetual Wealth Management

The wealth management business consists of three distinct brands in addition to Perpetual Private – Fordham, Jacaranda financial planning and Priority Life – offering a unique mix of wealth management, advice and trustee services. With a diverse range of capabilities including strategic advice on superannuation and retirement planning, general investment, asset protection, insurance, tax management, estate planning, aged care, social security, succession planning and philanthropy. Our clients include individuals, families, businesses, not-for-profit organisations, and Indigenous communities throughout Australia.

As part of an exciting new chapter, Perpetual Wealth will soon become a standalone business as part of the recently announced acquisition by Bain Capital. This creates a unique opportunity to join a business focused on growth, innovation, and delivering exceptional outcomes for clients.

About the role

Reporting to the Investment Director, this role will translate the investment philosophy, processes and insights of Perpetual Wealth Management’s Investments and Direct Equities teams into clear advice, client communications and practical investment solutions. You will work with advisers, investment teams and stakeholders to support priority client segments and contribute investment expertise to client acquisition, retention and review activities.  This role is available due to internal movement within the Investment team.

Role responsibilities include:

  • Provide guidance to advisers on portfolio construction, investment-manager structures, manager selection, evaluation and performance discussions.

  • Lead or contribute to investment-related client work, including research insights, analysis, asset-allocation recommendations, manager recommendations and presentation materials.

  • Deliver training, briefings and coaching to advisers on investment philosophy, market views, portfolio construction, risk settings, implementation and client communication.

  • Develop high-quality investment research, client communications, sales collateral and commentary on key market events.

  • Present investment recommendations, market insights, portfolio performance and outlooks to advisers, clients, boards and investment committees.

  • Where required, manage relationships with external research houses to establish and maintain third-party ratings for relevant internally managed investment strategies.

About you

  • An appropriate undergraduate degree in commerce, economics, business or finance, with attainment of or significant progress towards a relevant postgraduate qualification such as CFA or MBA.

  • RG146 accreditation and at least seven years’ experience in investment-related roles.

  • Sales or client experience, preferably within an advice context, and a strong understanding of portfolio theory, investment markets and financial instruments.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, supported by strong presentation capabilities and experience presenting to investment committees.

  • Strong numerical, modelling and analytical capabilities, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to work independently and take ownership of tasks.

  • The ability to synthesise complex information, communicate technical concepts to varied audiences and interpret investment information from a client perspective.

How we work

Our unique culture is underpinned by our three organisational behaviours, Stretch, Own it, Make an impact which drive our approach of day-to-day interactions with colleagues and clients, the way we approach decision-making to the questions we ask and the problems we solve.

  • An annual allowance to empower you to prioritise your personal wellbeing.

  • Study support and commitment to supporting professional development.

  • Strong commitment to all aspects of Diversity and Inclusion through a robust 7 pillar strategy.

  • A growing number of employee-led networks who work to raise awareness and drive continued change.

We’re committed to creating an inclusive workplace where diversity is celebrated. No matter your background or circumstances, we aim to provide an environment where you can thrive.
