Position Summary

Avum is seeking an AI/ML Integration Specialist to integrate artificial intelligence and machine learning capabilities into business applications and technology platforms. This role works with engineering, data, and business teams to turn AI solutions into reliable, secure, and scalable production capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain integrations connecting AI/ML models, APIs, and services with existing applications.
  • Implement generative AI, large language models (LLMs), natural language processing, computer vision, and predictive analytics capabilities to support business needs.
  • Build and maintain APIs, data pipelines, middleware, and integration workflows.
  • Collaborate with data scientists, engineers, product teams, and business stakeholders to define requirements and move models from development into production.
  • Evaluate and improve AI solution performance, scalability, security, reliability, and cost.
  • Monitor deployed solutions, troubleshoot issues, and establish practices for testing, version control, deployment, and ongoing monitoring.
  • Ensure solutions meet organizational security, privacy, governance, and responsible AI requirements.
  • Document architectures, integrations, and operating procedures, and recommend emerging technologies that support business goals.

Compensation

The salary range for this position is $105,000 – $130,000 annually, with a target midpoint of $117,000. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, certifications, and geographic location. Avum offers a comprehensive benefits package including medical (Cigna), dental and vision (Principal), 401(k), PTO, education reimbursement, and certification reimbursement.

Required Qualifications

  • U.S. citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, AI/ML, or a related field.
  • Three or more years of experience in software engineering, systems integration, ML engineering, data engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Experience integrating REST APIs, SDKs, microservices, and third party platforms.
  • Strong programming skills in Python and/or Java, JavaScript, or TypeScript.
  • Understanding of machine learning concepts, the model lifecycle, and AI application architecture.
  • Experience working with databases, data pipelines, JSON, SQL, and cloud environments.
  • Familiarity with Git, CI/CD, testing, logging, monitoring, and production deployment practices.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and problem solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience integrating LLMs and generative AI applications using OpenAI, Azure AI, AWS AI/ML, Google Cloud AI, or comparable platforms.
  • Knowledge of retrieval augmented generation (RAG), vector databases, embeddings, and semantic search.
  • Experience with ML frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or scikit-learn.
  • Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, serverless architectures, and cloud native development.
  • Experience with MLOps, LLMOps, and model monitoring.
  • Knowledge of AI security, governance, privacy, and responsible AI practices.
  • Experience integrating AI capabilities with Salesforce, ServiceNow, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar enterprise platforms.
