Make inter-dealer markets in corporate securities as part of Atomic's broker-dealer trading desk. You'll be responsible for quoting, executing, and managing risk on corporate bond and equity positions in the inter-dealer market, working directly with counterparties to source liquidity and facilitate trades. As Atomic builds out its trading and financing capabilities, you'll help establish the day-to-day trading practices, counterparty relationships, and workflows the desk runs on.
We're looking for a hands-on trader who can quote and manage risk in real time, not someone coming in purely from a research or analyst seat. Some things that may make you a great fit:
Active Series 57 (Securities Trader Representative) license
Direct, hands-on experience making inter-dealer markets in corporate securities
Deep understanding and application of Reg NMS, SHO and related regulations
Possess ability to navigate and use Exchange systems as it relates to high-touch trading, market making, and risk management.
Demonstrated experience quoting two-sided markets (bid/offer) and managing the resulting inventory risk, not just working client agency orders
Experience trading directly with inter-dealer brokers (IDBs) matching platforms — voice, or electronic IDB platforms ) — sourcing and providing liquidity across the street
Solid understanding of trade reporting, settlement mechanics, and the regulatory rules governing inter-dealer trading (FINRA, CAT reporting, best execution)
Must have three to five years direct experience in market making, and proprietary trading for a broker-dealer in corporate securities
Comfort working in a fast-moving, high-growth environment where processes are still being built out
Ideal candidates will also have:
Strong preference for securities lending experience (borrow/loan activity, agent lender relationships, or collateral management)
Repo/reverse repo experience a bonus
Margin lending experience a bonus
Bonus: S24 license
