Job Overview

As a Stamping Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the design, development, and optimization of stamping processes used in internal and external manufacturing operations. You will be responsible for ensuring that stamped components meet quality standards, production targets, and cost objectives.

Job Requirements

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Stamping Process Design and Development: 
  • Support vendors producing stamped components  
  • Select appropriate materials, tools, and equipment for stamping operations. 
  • Collaborate with design engineers to optimize parts for manufacturability. 

Tooling and Die Design: 

  • Design or oversee the design of stamping tools and dies. 
  • Ensure that tooling and dies are capable of producing parts to required specifications. 
  • Implement improvements to tooling and dies to enhance production efficiency and quality. 

Process Optimization and Improvement: 

  • Continuously improve stamping processes to increase productivity and reduce costs. 
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for process-related issues. 
  • Implement lean manufacturing principles to streamline operations. 

Quality Assurance: 

  • Perform process capability studies and ensure adherence to quality standards. 
  • Address quality issues and implement corrective actions as needed. 

Project Management: 

  • Manage stamping projects from concept through production launch. 
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams including tooling, manufacturing, and quality departments. 
  • Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget. 

Documentation and Reporting: 

  • Create and maintain documentation related to stamping processes and procedures. 
  • Prepare reports on process performance, quality metrics, and project status. 
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards. 

What your background should look like

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degree (e.g., Master’s) may be preferred. 
  • 8+ years of experience
  • Proven experience in stamping processes, tooling design, and manufacturing operations. 
  • Strong knowledge of metal forming principles, materials, and equipment. 
  • Experience or knowledge of cold heading operations a plus 
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) and familiarity with simulation tools (e.g., Finite Element Analysis). 
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to perform root cause analysis. 
  • Project management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks. 
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders. 
  • Work Environment: 
  • Will require domestic and international travel to suppliers, customers, and other company locations. 
  • Position is based in our Fulling Mill Rd campus. Working remotely is an option as well.

COMPENSATION
•    Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $124.700 - 187,000 annually (subject to change dependent on physical location)
•    Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
•    Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits
