Job description

Are you excited about the opportunity to solve complex software challenges and make a meaningful impact? Do you have a solid understanding of .NET/C#, and are you intrigued by the prospect of enhancing and integrating diverse systems? If so, you’re the candidate we’re seeking!

We’re looking for a Senior .NET/C# Software Engineer who is adept at integrating and enhancing diverse software systems from our recent acquisitions. Your role will require a proactive approach to learning new technologies and tackling challenges when navigating our buy-and-build strategy - but also the ability to maintain commercially established products as we integrate them with our other software solutions. We value engineers who are enthusiastic about pushing the boundaries of software solutions to achieve our collective objectives.

At Omnidocs, we’re on an inspiring learning journey, constantly acquiring new companies and technologies. We are now a team of almost 200 professionals across various locations. As a member of our Engineering team, you will initially assist in maintaining one of our most critical systems as we converge it with our other offerings. As we progress, your role will offer you the opportunity to be at the forefront of developing innovative and meaningful software solutions that are as dynamic as our evolving business.

The tech environment:

  • C#/.NET services and web applications, running on Microsoft Azure
  • A substantial SQL data layer at the heart of the product
  • A growing investment in CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code, and automated testing — which you will help shape

Essential Qualifications:

  • You hold a degree in Software Development or a related field.
  • You have at least four years of experience working with .NET/C#.
  • You have practical experience with APIs - building them, versioning them, and integrating third-party ones.
  • You have solid relational-database skills - comfortable reading and writing SQL in a production system.
  • You have strong communication skills in English, both written and spoken.

It’s a plus if you bring:

  • Experience operating or migrating production workloads on Microsoft Azure
  • CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code experience
  • Experience with billing or payment integrations
  • Experience working in acquired or legacy codebases during modernization
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes on Azure (AKS), Rust, NixOS, or the Exim mail server

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable software applications, ensuring high-quality standards and efficient performance.
  • Engage in code reviews, troubleshoot production issues, and enhance software solutions.
  • Help build the platform’s engineering foundations: automated pipelines, testing, and observability.
  • Collaborate in planning, estimate task durations, and communicate potential challenges.
  • Foster continuous improvement through effective team communication, innovation, and proactive problem-solving.
