Job description

Due to continued growth within our CFO Advisory practice, Cherry Bekaert is seeking an Accounting Advisory Manager to join our national team. This role offers flexibility to work hybrid OR remotely with travel as needed to support client engagements and team collaboration.

As a Manager, you will serve as a trusted advisor to clients, partnering with Corporate Accounting and Finance teams to address complex accounting challenges, enhance financial reporting processes, and navigate evolving regulatory requirements. You will lead multiple client engagements, manage project teams, and deliver solutions across technical accounting, SEC reporting, financial transformation, and transaction-related initiatives.

Our industry-focused teams support clients across Financial Services, Industrial & Consumer Goods, Private Equity, Professional Services, Real Estate, Construction & Hospitality, Technology, and Life Sciences, delivering practical solutions that address immediate needs while positioning organizations for future growth.

What You'll Do

As a Manager, you will:

  • Lead multiple client engagements, serving as a key point of contact and trusted advisor throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Support and optimize financial close processes, helping clients improve efficiency, accuracy, and reporting timelines.
  • Assist clients with accounting transformation initiatives, including cash-to-accrual conversions, opening balance sheet preparation, and purchase accounting.
  • Guide organizations through audit readiness efforts and support interactions with external auditors.
  • Lead technical accounting projects involving complex accounting matters, including ASC 480, ASC 606, ASC 718, ASC 805, ASC 815, and ASC 842.
  • Advise clients on IPO, SPAC, and SEC reporting matters, including disclosure and compliance requirements.
  • Prepare and review financial statements, footnote disclosures, accounting memos, reconciliations, audit support schedules, and SEC filings, including Forms 10-Q and 10-K.
  • Mentor and develop team members while contributing to a collaborative, high-performing culture.
  • Partner with senior leadership to identify opportunities to enhance client service and expand engagement scope.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • Active CPA license highly preferred
  • 5 or more years of experience within public accounting, advisory, or industry accounting environments.
  • Experience supporting SEC registrants, public companies, and/or private equity-backed organizations.
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge and a demonstrated interest in researching and resolving complex accounting issues.
  • Experience with month-end close, financial reporting, or SEC reporting processes.
  • Proven project management skills, including the ability to prioritize competing demands and lead engagements from planning through completion.
  • Ability to manage multiple client relationships and work effectively in both independent and team environments.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact confidently with finance leaders, executives, clients, and internal stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking capabilities with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to travel approximately 25-40% based on client and business needs.

The salary range for this position is included below. Individual salaries within this range are determined by a variety of factors including but not limited to the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, education, knowledge, skills, and geographic location. Pay Range:

Pay From: $106,900 to $171,000
