Project description:

Our client is one of the largest e-commerce platforms in Europe, used by millions of users every day. The company connects sellers - from small businesses to global brands - with customers, offering a vast product selection, fast delivery, and a well-crafted shopping experience.

Designing a vertical-specific user experience for the automotive category as part of company’s key strategic initiative, aimed at transforming the platform from a general-purpose marketplace into a collection of specialized “stores within a store.”

The role:

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs using Kotlin, Java, and Spring Boot.

  • Build and evolve solutions based on microservices architecture, ensuring their reliability, performance, and maintainability.

  • Design the architecture of new modules and backend components and contribute to key technical decisions.

  • Continuously optimize and improve existing systems, identifying opportunities to enhance performance, scalability, and code quality.

  • Work with MongoDB, Spring Data MongoDB, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP) as part of the application ecosystem.

  • Write and maintain high-quality, well-tested code while following established engineering best practices.

  • Use AI-assisted and agentic coding tools as part of the daily software development workflow.

  • Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Data Analysts, UX Designers, and other engineers to translate product and business needs into effective technical solutions.

  • Occasionally contribute to areas beyond the backend, including web or mobile development, depending on project needs.
