Job description

Job Title: Strategic Account Executive
Location: Remote, USA
Reports to:
Director of Client Success

About us

At nudge, we believe every employee should have the clarity, confidence, and capability to make great financial and benefit decisions, whenever it matters most. We combine software, data, and behavioral science to deliver personalized, proactive financial support throughout someone's working life. For employers, we don't just build awareness of benefits, we help employees turn access into action, reducing the costs of poor financial health and maximizing the value of their benefits investment.

We're not a benefit, we're a benefit multiplier. Because we never sell financial products, our impartial approach is trusted by some of the world's most recognized brands, including Microsoft, Lilly, and PepsiCo.

Our culture and values

Our values are at the heart of how we work: Friends Through Thick and Thin, Embracing Differences, Supporting Individuals, Leading and Sharing, and Always Learning.

About the role

As nudge grows, we're evolving how we support our clients, bringing together dedicated commercial, Client Success, and Professional Services expertise.

As Strategic Account Executive, you'll be the commercial lead for a portfolio of major enterprise clients, with responsibility for the relationship, retention and growth.

You'll be based in the US and work primarily with major enterprise clients with significant US stakeholders . Many are global organizations, so relationships and growth opportunities may extend across countries and regions.

Your role is to understand each account deeply, build trusted senior relationships, protect existing revenue, and proactively identify opportunities to expand our partnerships.

You'll need both farmer and hunter instincts: the ability to develop long-term strategic relationships alongside the commercial drive to map organizations, open new doors, identify whitespace, and close new opportunities within existing clients.

This is a senior individual contributor role for someone with exceptional enterprise relationship management skills, strong commercial instincts, and deep knowledge of the US employee benefits landscape.

What you'll be doing

  • Own: Take commercial ownership of a portfolio of nudge's largest enterprise clients, with accountability for retention, renewal, and expansion.

  • Renew: Lead commercial renewals end-to-end, including strategy, pricing, contracting, procurement, negotiation, and close.

  • Grow: Identify and close opportunities to expand nudge across additional employee populations, business units, countries, and regions.

  • Create opportunities: Proactively identify whitespace, map complex organizations, build new stakeholder relationships, and create opportunities rather than waiting for them to emerge.

  • Strategize: Develop and execute clear account plans covering commercial objectives, stakeholder relationships, risks, opportunities, and actions.

  • Partner: Build trusted relationships with senior Benefits, Total Rewards, HR, Procurement, and other key stakeholders, positioning nudge as a strategic partner.

  • Demonstrate value: Understand each client's priorities and build compelling commercial narratives connecting nudge's impact to their wider people and benefits strategy.

  • Collaborate: Work closely with Client Success, Professional Services, Product, and Leadership to bring the right expertise into each strategic relationship.

  • Forecast: Maintain clear visibility of renewals, risks, expansion opportunities, and expected commercial outcomes across your portfolio.

  • Lead: Represent nudge credibly with senior client stakeholders and become a trusted commercial voice on financial wellbeing and the US employee benefits landscape.

Skills & Experience

To be successful in this role, you'll have:

  • Significant experience managing and commercially growing large, complex enterprise relationships within employee benefits or financial wellbeing.

  • Deep knowledge of the US employee benefits landscape and credibility with senior Benefits and Total Rewards leaders.

  • An understanding of how the broker and advisory market works in supporting clients like ours and the implications this has on us.

  • A proven track record of owning significant enterprise renewals and delivering strong retention.

  • Demonstrable success growing existing accounts through upsell and expansion.

  • Strong commercial acumen, with experience owning pricing, contracting, procurement, negotiation, and close.

  • Exceptional relationship-building skills and the ability to navigate complex, multinational organizations.

  • Strong hunter and farmer instincts, with the confidence to deepen existing relationships while proactively opening new doors within accounts.

  • Experience developing strategic account plans, mapping stakeholders, and identifying whitespace.

  • Strong commercial judgment, organization, and forecasting skills, with the ability to manage multiple significant accounts and opportunities.

  • A collaborative, low-ego approach and the ability to work effectively as part of a wider account team.

  • A hands-on, entrepreneurial mindset and the motivation, curiosity, resilience, and ownership to thrive in a growing business.

What success looks like

You'll build trusted relationships with some of nudge's most important clients, successfully retain and renew them, and materially grow the value of those partnerships over time.

You'll know your accounts inside out — the key stakeholders, risks, opportunities, and whitespace — and combine strong client relationships with ambitious commercial outcomes.
