The Opportunity

At Alera Group, our Employee Benefits team helps organizations attract, retain, and support their employees through innovative benefits solutions. As an Account Executive, you'll play an important role in delivering exceptional client service, building trusted relationships, and helping clients navigate the complexities of employee benefits.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with target-market clients, brokers, and prospects
  • Achieve sales goals through effective prospecting, presentations, enrollments, and ongoing client support
  • Serve as a trusted advisor by providing guidance on medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance products
  • Maintain knowledge of industry trends, regulatory requirements, carrier offerings, and legislative changes
  • Prepare, review, and submit accurate group applications and supporting documentation for underwriting
  • Collaborate with sales support, underwriting, management, brokers, employer contacts, and carrier representatives to deliver exceptional client experiences
  • Support renewals, customer retention efforts, and post-sale service activities
  • Assist team members and leadership with special projects and business development initiatives
Qualifications:

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience required
  • Active Life and Health Insurance License or ability to obtain and maintain required licensure based on business needs
  • Strong sales, relationship-building, and customer service skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to influence, persuade, and build trust with clients and business partners
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Outlook, and SharePoint
  • Experience using CRM systems such as Salesforce or similar platforms

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, Marketing, Insurance, or a related field
  • Previous experience in employee benefits, insurance sales, brokerage, or account management
  • Knowledge of group health insurance products and underwriting processes
  • Experience working with brokers, employer groups, and carrier partners
  • Demonstrated success achieving sales or business development goals

Compensation

  • Salary Range: $110,000–$120,000 annually
