Pet Food & Pet Care Products

When a veterinarian and a software engineer couldn't find the perfect food for their own dogs, they decided to make it. Dr. Tory Waxman, Michael Waxman, Mabel and Sky started Sundays from their garage, launched in 2020, and now feed a growing community of thousands of dogs. Our human-grade, air-dried food is healthier than kibble, but easier than home-cooked or refrigerated foods. Our team is working to make being a pet parent even easier and making more time to play! Sundays is reinventing food for the modern dog family.

Job description

About Sundays for Dogs

Sundays for Dogs is a founder-led, direct-to-consumer brand reimagining pet food so dog owners can spend more quality time with their dogs — now and later. We make human-grade, air-dried food that supports long, healthy lives, and we build our company around shared core values that guide how we work and how we treat each other.

We’re headquartered in Cleveland, Ohio, with a primarily remote team of ~50 full-time employees across the U.S. While we work distributed day to day, we come together in person on a quarterly basis because relationships matter. Our business today is 100% DTC, with our subscription model at the core of how we serve customers — and we’re building to scale with intention. We’re just getting started...

About your team and position:

The Supply Chain team is a lean, high-ownership function responsible for Sundays' full fulfillment network - from co-manufacturer production through 3PL warehousing to final delivery. Historically run by a single person, we're now building out dedicated roles for the first time, and this position is part of that first wave. The Logistics Manager will own freight, fulfillment, and carrier performance end-to-end—from daily 3PL execution to freight budget accountability. You'll build the reporting, audit, and traceability infrastructure this function needs to scale, and become the go-to point of contact for carriers, 3PLs, and Customer Care on all things logistics. Reports to the Supply Chain Manager. No direct reports currently, though this may evolve as the team grows. You'll collaborate closely with Customer Care, Food Safety & Quality, and Finance on a regular basis.

Your day-to-day:

  • Own day-to-day 3PL fulfillment performance, ensuring shipments consistently meet OTIF and SLA targets.
  • Manage domestic freight and carrier relationships, including rate negotiations, to control costs and maintain service levels.
  • Audit freight billing and resolve claims, recovering costs from carrier overcharges or service failures.
  • Own the freight & logistics budget, tracking spend and reporting variance to leadership monthly.
  • Build and maintain real-time logistics and carrier performance reporting as the source of truth for the business.
  • Maintain full product traceability from co-manufacturer through delivery, partnering with Food Safety & Quality on any investigations.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact between Customer Care and the 3PL network for fulfillment and delivery issues.

What success looks like:

  • First 30 days: Complete onboarding across freight and 3PL systems, map the current carrier and 3PL network, and independently audit a sample of freight bills.
  • First 3 months: Fully own freight auditing, claims resolution, and budget tracking; launch a live logistics performance dashboard; document core SOPs.
  • Ongoing metrics: OTIF/SLA performance at or above target, freight spend tracked within budget with proactive variance reporting, and freight claims resolved on a consistent predictable timeline.

We'd love to hear from you if you have:

  • You have 5+ years of experience in logistics or transportation, ideally within CPG. Experience with cross-border OTR freight is a plus.
  • You have proven experience auditing freight invoices and recovering costs from carrier errors.
  • You have direct experience negotiating rates or contract terms with carriers.
  • You have the ability to build and maintain performance reporting using tools like Google Sheets, Looker, or similar platforms.
  • You have a track record of independently building processes where none previously existed.
  • You have strong interpersonal skills and are comfortable holding external vendors accountable.
