Job description

About the Team/Role:

WEX is transforming the Health & Benefits experience by modernizing a complex ecosystem of products that support consumer-directed healthcare accounts, payments, and employer solutions. As part of this effort, we are building a more unified, scalable platform that powers both current and next-generation experiences across our portfolio.

We are seeking a Product Manager III to drive execution across a large and complex direct business portfolio within Health & Benefits. This role is highly execution-focused and sits at the intersection of platform capabilities and customer-facing solutions. You will be responsible for delivering modern, scalable product improvements that reduce friction for large employers, improve operational efficiency, and mitigate attrition risk across our product suite.

This role offers broad exposure across multiple product verticals and requires strong cross-functional collaboration, technical fluency, and the ability to quickly ramp across domains. You will play a critical role in modernizing legacy systems while helping shape the foundation for future platform-driven innovation.

How you’ll make an impact:

  • Drive execution across a large, complex portfolio of Health & Benefits products, ensuring delivery against key development priorities.

  • Own and manage product initiatives end-to-end, from discovery through delivery, with a strong focus on measurable outcomes.

  • Modernize existing products and contribute to building scalable, platform-driven solutions that improve customer and developer experiences.

  • Translate complex business needs into actionable product requirements, including user stories and backlog prioritization.

  • Partner closely with engineering, design, analytics, and business stakeholders to deliver high-impact solutions.

  • Work within Agile frameworks, actively contributing to sprint planning, refinement, demos, and delivery processes.

  • Engage in technical discussions to help shape architecture decisions and ensure alignment with platform capabilities (e.g., APIs, integrations).

  • Manage multiple initiatives across varying levels of complexity and maturity, balancing speed with quality.

  • Use qualitative and quantitative data to inform decisions, measure success, and continuously iterate on product improvements.

  • Contribute to reducing customer attrition risk by improving product usability, efficiency, and value delivery.

  • Operate effectively in a fast-paced environment with rapid turnaround and high visibility across teams.

Experience you’ll bring:

  • 5+ years of Product Management experience, preferably within Health & Benefits, healthcare, fintech, or enterprise platforms.

  • Proven ability to deliver complex products with a strong focus on execution, outcomes, and continuous iteration.

  • Experience working in Agile environments collaborating with Engineering, Architecture, and Product Design  teams to deliver end-to-end solutions.

  • Strong technical fluency, with experience working on or alongside API-driven architectures (e.g., REST, GraphQL, integrations, webhooks).

  • Ability to quickly understand and navigate complex systems across multiple domains.

  • Demonstrated experience managing multiple initiatives simultaneously with competing priorities.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to leverage data to inform decisions and measure impact.

  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to translate technical concepts into business value and influence stakeholders.

  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally and build strong collaborative relationships.

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.

  • Apply modern AI tools (e.g., LLM-assisted workflows, code-generation agents, predictive analytics) to streamline requirements generation, API mapping, and product delivery.

What will give you an edge:

  • Experience in consumer-directed healthcare products (e.g., HSA, FSA, benefits administration).

  • Background in platform or infrastructure product management, including building scalable, composable systems.

  • Experience modernizing legacy systems or contributing to digital transformation initiatives.

  • Ability to bridge platform and application layers to reduce complexity and improve developer experience.

  • Experience working with enterprise or large employer clients and solving complex operational challenges.

  • Familiarity with event-driven architectures or distributed systems.

  • Applied AI & Analytics: 2+ years of experience integrating practical AI/ML capabilities, predictive models, or LLM-driven automation into enterprise SaaS, fintech, or healthcare platforms.

  • Intelligent Workflows: Hands-on experience using AI for data extraction, document processing (e.g., automated claims/receipt matching), fraud detection, or conversational self-service in portal environments.

  • AI Tooling & Methodology: Familiarity with leveraging modern AI-assisted tools (e.g., Cursor, Claude, ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot) to accelerate product discovery, PRDs, user story creation, and API prototyping.
