Position Summary

The Strategic Business Development Advisor is responsible for developing and executing territory and account engagement strategies that expand Galvanize's presence within Enterprise and Government markets. This role exercises independent judgment in identifying market opportunities, prioritizing target accounts, developing prospect engagement strategies, qualifying business opportunities, and advising internal stakeholders on market trends, customer needs, and pipeline development. The position collaborates closely with Sales Leadership, Marketing, and Strategic Account Advisors to optimize business development initiatives and improve sales effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Pipeline Development

  • Develop and execute territory-specific prospecting and account engagement strategies aligned with organizational revenue objectives.
  • Analyze target markets, industry trends, customer initiatives, competitive activity, and organizational priorities to identify high-value business opportunities.
  • Determine outreach priorities and engagement approaches based on independent assessment of account potential, buying readiness, and strategic fit.
  • Design and adapt multi-channel engagement strategies utilizing email, phone, LinkedIn, referrals, events, and other approved business development channels.
  • Evaluate campaign effectiveness and modify outreach strategies to improve engagement and conversion rates.

Business Opportunity Assessment

  • Conduct consultative discovery conversations to evaluate organizational priorities, workforce challenges, AI initiatives, budget considerations, and strategic objectives.
  • Exercise independent judgment in determining opportunity qualification, sales readiness, stakeholder alignment, and appropriate next steps.
  • Identify business risks, obstacles, and competitive considerations while recommending strategies to advance opportunities.
  • Develop account intelligence and strategic recommendations that enable successful engagement by Strategic Account Advisors.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Serve as a strategic partner to Sales Leadership by providing market intelligence, customer feedback, and recommendations for improving business development effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with Marketing to refine messaging, campaign strategy, and target audience segmentation.
  • Recommend improvements to business development processes, sales workflows, qualification methodology, and CRM utilization.
  • Participate in planning discussions regarding territory development, market expansion, and pipeline forecasting.

Pipeline Management & Business Analysis

  • Maintain responsibility for the quality, health, and strategic direction of assigned business development pipeline.
  • Analyze pipeline performance, conversion metrics, and engagement effectiveness to identify trends and recommend corrective actions.
  • Prepare reports and communicate market observations, business risks, opportunity forecasts, and pipeline insights to leadership.
  • Ensure CRM records accurately reflect strategic account information, customer needs, opportunity status, and recommended actions.

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in business development, strategic sales, account development, consultative sales, recruiting, or a related client-facing business role.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently prioritize work, manage territory strategy, and exercise sound business judgment.
  • Experience analyzing customer organizations and developing strategic engagement plans.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to tailor messaging to executive and senior leadership audiences.
  • Experience using CRM systems, sales engagement platforms, and business productivity software.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment while managing multiple priorities and competing business objectives.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience developing Enterprise or Government accounts.
  • Knowledge of public-sector procurement, workforce development, professional services, or technology solutions.
  • Understanding of AI adoption, workforce transformation, and organizational change initiatives.
  • Experience collaborating across Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success functions.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Compensation & Benefits: Stride, Inc. considers a person’s education, experience, and qualifications, as well as the position’s work location, expected quality and quantity of work, required travel (if any), external market and internal value when determining a new employee’s salary level.  Salaries will differ based on these factors, the position’s level and expected contribution, and the employee’s benefits elections.  Offers will typically be in the bottom half of the range.

We anticipate the salary range to be $65,000 - 75,000.  Eligible employees may receive a bonus.  This salary is not guaranteed, as an individual’s compensation can vary based on several factors.  These factors include, but are not limited to, geographic location, experience, training, education, and local market conditions. Stride offers a robust benefits package for eligible employees that can include health benefits, retirement contributions, and paid time off.
