About the Opportunity
On behalf of our client, we are hiring a Senior Packaging Technology Specialist to support their packaging development and standardization efforts. Our client is a premier Australian-owned organization operating within the international automotive aftermarket industry, supplying suspension and elastomer solutions across the globe.
Joining the team as a Senior Packaging Technology Specialist, you will lead the end-to-end development of protective packaging systems for automotive components while carrying out a hands-on operational workload across design, material selection, testing, and supplier management. You will own packaging specifications, quality standards, and continuous improvement initiatives while collaborating cross-functionally with R&D, QA/QC, Production, Procurement, and Marketing to ensure aligned and effective packaging solutions that meet export market requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Development: Lead the design of protective packaging structures (cartons, EPE/EPS foam, wooden pallets, anti-rust plastic bags, steel frames, etc.) based on product characteristics (geometry, weight, surface sensitivity) and requirements from relevant departments.
Material Selection: Research and test new materials (recycled plastics, biodegradable materials, paper-based solutions, etc.) to improve performance and reduce carbon footprint.
Testing & Quality Assurance: Conduct durability tests (drop tests), seal integrity, thermal resistance, and packaging-product compatibility evaluations to ensure packaging meets international standards.
Manufacturing Optimization: Collaborate with operations teams to ensure packaging compatibility with automated packaging lines, minimize defect rates, and optimize packaging efficiency.
Supplier Management: Work with printing and packaging suppliers to control color quality, printing techniques (Offset, Gravure, Flexo), and delivery timelines.
Packaging Project Management: Lead and manage packaging development and innovation projects from concept to mass production, ensuring timeline, cost, and quality targets are met.
Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize cost, reduce defects, minimize waste, and improve packaging efficiency.
Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with R&D, QA/QC, Production, Procurement, and Marketing to ensure aligned and effective packaging solutions.
Technical Documentation: Develop and maintain packaging technical documentation (specifications, drawings, standards, SOPs).
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all packaging information and labeling comply with Vietnamese regulations and requirements of export markets.
Bachelor's degree in Materials Engineering, Packaging, Polymer Science, or related fields.
Minimum 5 years of experience in packaging development, preferably in industrial manufacturing (automotive, mechanical engineering, industrial equipment).
Strong knowledge of packaging structures, materials (plastic, paper, metal, recycled materials), and printing technologies (Offset, Flexo, Gravure).
Experience working with automated packaging lines and manufacturing optimization.
Familiar with packaging testing standards (drop test, compression test, seal integrity, etc.).
Knowledge of sustainability and eco-packaging is a plus.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with cross-functional collaboration ability.
Good communication skills, especially in working with suppliers.
Good English communication and technical reading skills.
After you apply, unlock the direct contact details of the people who actually make the call. A quick follow-up makes you 5x more likely to land an interview.
