As a Shopper Insights Analyst, you’ll help drive growth with Walmart, one of General Mills’ most important retail customers. You’ll be embedded with our sales organization and serve as a bridge between shopper insights and sales, helping partners understand what shoppers are doing, why behaviors are changing, and where new opportunities exist.

You’ll support the Big G Cereal and Dry Baking businesses while working across brands, categories, and business questions. Your work will combine syndicated data, panel data, survey research, and other quantitative and qualitative inputs to create clear insights stories that keep the shopper, consumer, customer, and business at the center of decisions.

What You’ll Do

  • Respond to day-to-day questions from the sales team, turning business needs into focused analyses and actionable insights.

  • Analyze shopper, consumer, category, product, and purchase-basket behavior using syndicated, panel, point-of-sale, survey, and other data sources.

  • Use tools and platforms such as Scintilla/Luminate, Numerator, Nielsen, and comparable data or survey systems.

  • Investigate how shopping behavior differs across channels or occasions.

  • Build concise, compelling presentations and quick-turn analyses for sales partners, merchants, General Mills stakeholders, line reviews, innovation reviews, and other customer engagements.

  • Support innovation and concept learning by programming or analyzing surveys, including purchase intent, substitution, complementarity, and shopper response questions.

  • Partner with Insights counterparts to develop and share insights across products, brands, categories, and strategies.

  • Participate in broader Shopper Insights projects that explore topics such as value perceptions, economic and macro trends, nutrition-related shifts, and changing household shopping behavior.

  • Translate complex data into a clear “so what,” prioritizing the information most useful for the audience and decision at hand.

  • Build strong relationships in a matrixed organization and participate actively in team meetings, knowledge sharing, and best-practice development.

  • Maintain a growth mindset by learning new tools, methods, and ways of working and identifying opportunities to create broader impact.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Market Research, Data Analytics, Psychology, Business, or a related field.

  • 1+ year of experience in consumer or shopper insights, market research, category management, data analytics, sales analytics, or a related field.

  • Demonstrated interest in understanding the reasons behind shopper and consumer behavior.

  • Ability to work with data, manipulate and extract information into Excel or comparable analytical tools, and learn new platforms quickly.

  • Ability to synthesize multiple data sources and inputs into a simple, compelling story.

  • Strong communication and storytelling skills, including the ability to tailor information to a sales, marketing, merchant, or executive audience.

  • Comfort working in a fast-paced, agile, and collaborative environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Scintilla/Luminate, Numerator, Nielsen, Circana, Qualtrics, or similar data and survey tools.

  • Strong command of syndicated data and shopper or consumer research methods.

  • Experience analyzing panel data, purchase baskets, omnichannel behavior, digital shopping, or in-store behavior.

  • Experience developing or programming surveys and interpreting quantitative or qualitative research.

  • Experience presenting insights to senior leaders, customers, or cross-functional partners.

  • Curiosity about market research, shopper motivations, and the broader forces shaping household purchasing behavior.
