Job description

Senior Reconciliation Analyst (Fixed-Term Cover)

About the Role

Our Reconciliation team makes sure that every euro our clients see in their balances is actually backed by cash in the bank — and right now, we need an experienced Senior Reconciliation Analyst to join us on a fixed-term basis to cover a period of maternity leave.

This is a hands-on, high-impact role at the heart of our payment operations. You'll own the day-to-day routine of monitoring reconciliation breaks, investigating discrepancies, and working closely with engineering and banking partners to keep everything balanced. It's a fast-moving environment where priorities can shift daily, so we're looking for someone who thrives on structure one day and adapts the next.

While the core focus is routine reconciliation, there's real room to get involved in automation projects once you're up to speed — and this role can also be a strong stepping stone into other teams at the company longer-term.

A Bit About the Team

Our Reconciliation team is small but mighty — every analyst is expected to think like an owner, gradually automating routine work while keeping the core process rock-solid. It's a team that values flexibility (fully remote, outcome-focused — we care that the job gets done, not what hours you keep) and gives people real autonomy once the fundamentals are covered. If you enjoy solving problems that sit right at the intersection of data and payments, you'll fit right in here.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Own daily reconciliation monitoring — checking that cash held in the bank matches client balances in our systems, and flagging and investigating any breaks or mismatches as they arise
  • Resolve reconciliation breaks end-to-end — determining whether an issue is internal (looping in engineering) or external (liaising directly with banks and third-party payment providers) and driving it to resolution
  • Maintain reporting and month-end close — supporting vendor reporting, regulatory reporting, and other recurring reporting cycles with a high level of accuracy
  • Work across data tools — using Excel alongside data visualization tools (Databricks, Metabase, or similar — Tableau/Power BI experience also welcome) to monitor and track reconciliation data
  • Contribute to automation — gradually helping automate manual reconciliation processes using AI and other tools, reducing reliance on spreadsheets over time
  • Handle occasional manual money transfers — with the accuracy and attention to detail this requires
  • Manage stakeholders across the business — working with engineering, treasury, and external banking partners to keep processes running smoothly

Who You Are

  • You have hands-on experience in reconciliation, payment operations, or treasury operations (e.g. as a reconciliation specialist, payment analyst, or accountant with reconciliation exposure)
  • You're comfortable with Excel and have some experience with data visualization/BI tools (Databricks, Metabase, Tableau, Power BI, or similar)
  • You have a working understanding of payment schemes and how money moves between banks and internal systems — you know who to go to when something doesn't add up
  • You're diligent and detail-oriented, especially when it comes to handling money movements
  • You're used to fast-paced, frequently changing environments and can adapt when processes shift — this isn't a role with a fixed rulebook
  • You have strong stakeholder management skills and are confident communicating with both internal teams and external partners (e.g. banks)
  • You're able to start immediately or on very short notice
  • You're open to a fixed-term contract (~5 months, with a real possibility of extension depending on business needs)

Nice to Have

  • Experience working at a neobank or fintech (e.g. N26 or similar) — you'll likely need less ramp-up time in a high-change environment
  • A mathematical or quantitative background
  • Prior experience helping build or improve automations within a reconciliation or payments workflow
  • Basic SQL or data analysis skills
