Job description

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Associate Attorney to join our growing law firm. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney who enjoys a varied caseload, direct client interaction, and the opportunity to take meaningful ownership of matters from start to finish.

The ideal candidate is a strong writer and communicator who is comfortable managing multiple priorities and working both independently and collaboratively with other attorneys and staff. We are looking for someone who wants to become an integral part of the firm and continue developing their practice in a supportive, client-focused environment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a diverse caseload across multiple areas of the firm’s general practice
  • Meet and communicate directly with clients regarding their legal matters
  • Conduct legal research and develop case strategies
  • Draft pleadings, motions, agreements, correspondence, and other legal documents
  • Handle discovery, document review, and case preparation
  • Attend hearings, conferences, depositions, mediations, and other proceedings as appropriate
  • Negotiate with opposing counsel and other parties
  • Maintain organized case files, deadlines, and client communications
  • Work collaboratively with attorneys, paralegals, and administrative staff
  • Provide practical, responsive, and high-quality legal counsel to clients

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
  • Active license to practice law in Maryland and in good standing
  • Prior experience practicing law, preferably within a small or mid-sized firm environment
  • Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication and client-service skills
  • Ability to independently manage matters and competing deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and professional judgment
  • Courtroom and litigation experience is a plus
  • Experience across multiple practice areas is highly valued

Salary: $80,000 - $150,000
